Springs In A Floyd Rose (Changing Guage)

i just brought a floyd rose guitar and i wanna change the strings to 52 - 10, question is how many springs should i put in the back? 1 or 2?

73. That's the standard number of springs in today's awesomely-awesomed guitars.

Change the strings first, if the bridge is too low, adjust the springs in the back and re-tune it. I doubt you'll need more springs for a set of 52's.....i put on a set of 13-56 in my guitar and all i needed was to fiddle with the springs. That's about the max guage my guitar can handle with the current springs though.

If you tighten the springs to the max in the back and the bridge is still too love, THEN add a spring.

i imagine three would be perfect for 10's

i have 11's in my ibanez and i have four springs

is 52 heavy bottoms? i am too lazy right now to check.

10-52 is a typical heavy bottom set.

i ve got just two springs for my floyd, but i just use 10's and tune to d. If i was to use a heavier set i d prob use more springs to stop the bridge from goin all spangled and shit

I have .009 - .046 strings on my guitar and I have 5 springs in there....so it is just a matter of preference. Just as long as the floyd stays parallel with the body, I'm cool
