Somewhat of a dilemna (strings).
OK, here is my thing:
I was recently talking with a friend of mine about strings, and he said .60's ZW (maybe even the .70's) are really good for that thick, full, heavy sound. Now, I read reviews about it and alot of people said the tone ruled on it. The thing is though, I only use half step to C (sometimes standard, and I will only usually use B for some doom), and I play both thrash and stoner/doom stuff. I would not mind playing fast on thicker strings, but how tight would they be in half step or standard, and how fast would they break? Thats basically my rotten jig there. Any reccomendations on strings, or should I just get my nut changed and get the ZW's?

60's or 70's would be insanely tight in standard or Eb. I'd be surprised if you could even pull off a decent bend. Don't get them unless you're downtuning like a motherfucker.

Zakk uses the .60s for E, Eb, and Drop C
He uses the .70s for B, A, G.....an wherever else he tunes....do you want that tight of strings though????

if u use those strings in standard E, u'd have to tork ur neck first otherwise ur strings would be tight as fuck.

I would not care too much if my strings were really tight, infact I would probably like them to be tight, even though the bending issue might annoy me. Is it possible to tork a guitar with a tune o matic, and if so, how? If I was in standard tuning though, would it kill my neck because of the pressure? Also, the lowest tuning I will go for normal playing would be B, and thats probably for playing Crowbar stuff.
