GutRot?
Anyone heard of this band? They are pretty decent gore grind/gore metal, with really triggered resonant drum sound and alot of unique drumming.

Really good band. I love the drum intro to Teabagging the Dead.

i was listening to their split with Dynestary last night, its good stuff. The only thing that gets me (about goregrind in general really) is that when i have a little spree of listening to lots of different grind bands there isnt much variation between them. In the instance of GutRot I think it was Gruesome Stuff Relish that it sounded rather similar to. Basically its only when you go to rediculious bands (e.g. Gronibard) that you get any variation these days.

I'm not too sure I'd class Gutrot as "goregrind". Basically, they are brutal death. Devourment clones. They are good, nonetheless. They broke up though.

yeah, they are really good. One problem im having with alot of bands these days though is WAY too much gutteral vocals. Ever heard of Frank Mullen? He does the sickest vocals and they arent even that low. Also the vocalist from Origin. Vocalists just need more variation these days.

i guess, never heard em. I mean just more variation like origin, and less like the mono tone grrr grrr grrrr shit that im hearing today. Great music behind the vocals alot of the time, but the vocals just ruin it for me sometimes.

they have vocals that are pitch shifted upwards as well as downwards
i think that any band that has a pitch shifted vocalist you wont get much variation in to vocals, unless there is more than one person working on them. But at least GutRot aren't like brutus (3 vocalsists, all exactly the same)

I have the cd way before the label started distrobuting.. Its some really good stuff.
Alot of people get annoyed by the vocals, and so gay that the drummer quit and joined Black Dahlia Murder. I fucking hate BDM, most fairy tale-ish death metal ever. Btw, why would u consider Gutrot goregrind? seriously, ur all dumb, obviously listen to the music carefully, the music is very serious, very structured, and has no spontaneous changes at all.
Seriously, Im gonna make a chart for u guys to show u how to figure out which band is put into the different sub genres of death and grind.
also, I had no idea that they quit.

If u listened to Suffocation in the old days during "effigy" u would have also that he had very annoying guttural vocals, trust me, Frank's vocals were the most insane in the scene, no other band could of been compared to his vocals from the 1st full length to any other death metal band in the old school days. I mean look at Chrs Barnes, George Fisher, Peter from Vader, and the vocalist of Vomitory, and when u all compare, frank's are definately low as fuck. But the vocals on the new Suffo album are a turn off, because of the songs are brutal as fuck but the vocals sound watered down, and both did not quite fit together.

I agree with that, effigy is really really low, but i prefer peirced and despises vocals, they sound way more primal.

I just found out there are 2 bands named Gutrot.
http://www.gutrot.net This is the one that I’ve heard. This could be the one with the drummer who left for TBDM. Teabagging the Dead is a awesome song. (awesome drummer)
http://www.gutrot.us I believe this is the one with the three vocalist. I haven’t heard them yet so I can’t say which I like the best.

Fuckin hell, I finally managed to get some mp3's of this band, they are the shit! The vocals suit perfectly.
That drumming .......... I can't believe he left for Black Dahlia Murder. I downloaded a bit of their split with Dysentery, another pretty good grind band.

Yes the drumming, incestual rimjob is on par with longstreth, its a shame that hes in black dahlia now, all they need is drummer with mad triggers that can hold a decent blast and can do some nice rolls.
