New Gear for me, help....
Before i start, for my opposion to any flaming, i have already searched countless threads about certain gear and still have found any thing that fancy's me (PUNC?).
So to start off, i am going to be getting my RAN soon and i decided to have just 1 EMG-81 popped in it. I like the EMG's i put in my other guitar so decided it was good to put it on my RAN. I kinda want to get a new amp or even start my own rack. Right now i have a Crate GLX 2x12, and i run a 535q crybaby and a Dime Distortion pedal. I bought most of this shit when i was a gear noob (i still am but not as much thanks to this forum) But i really dislike that POS crate this asshole arabian too obsessed with his commesion, sold me last christmas. I have played on such pre-amps as the Tri-Axis and the JMP-1 and i liked both of them a lot, (the jmp-1 is a little more in my price range) I dont really know much about pre-amps or poweramps or cabs or tubes, so it would be nice to have some input on a good pre-amp/poweramp/cab to start my rack with, ive been browsing through ebay and ive found some good stuff for fairly cheap. Any suggestions of any sort would be nice for shit to start my new rack with.

i'm selling alot of my rack gear, including a jmp-1 preamp, peavey classic 50/50 poweramp, a hush super C, plus a couple other toys. if you're interested just pm me....
i don't know if you're looking into used gear or not, but you should be when you're dropping this much money on an amp..
that wah you're using isnt bad....
distortion pedals are usually a no no in the real world(as in when you decide you want to become a credible gigging musician), especially one as shitty as the dime one...
so i'd ditch the dirt box(personally i know the crate could do better for me "tonewise")...
rack gear rocks.... if you want to get into it i suggest starting with the basic preamp and poweramp setup, then one you have the basics covered you can put in or pull out all the toys you want, like a sonic maximizer, aural exciter, fx units, parametric eq's, compressors, noise suppressors, graphic eq's, ect..... it's very fun and addicting.
some like simple setups that are just a preamp and poweramp, then you meet a guy like me that has trouble fitting everything he wants into an 8 space rack(which is pretty damn big.)

oh that would be awesome if you sold that, it might be a while before i could buy it, what cab would be good with the jmp and the poweramp you have, also how did it sound when you had it all hooked up, did you enjoy it?

i have some people looking into it, but they don't seem to understand me when i say "i'm firm on the price" so i've had to turn a couple away, then they come back when they lose their bids on ebay ... but if you get some dough and i still have them i'd be glad to hook you up.
it sounds really good. ive been using it with vintage ported peavey cabs with celestion vintage 30's and g12t-75's.
the el84's in the 50/50 really compliment the jmp-1 in the marshall sound when you push it hard enough... ithink the jmp-1 has hands down the nicest cleans of any marshall, and the distortion is some of the most brutal... it really does it all, from super cleans to gritty cleans, to light crunch, to heavy distortion, to searing lead tones... but it pretty much always has the marshall(british crunch/glassy edge) sound to it... which alot of people find desirable. i use it with alot of other stuff in the rack like eq's and a sonic maximizer... it helps to take it into different territory and give more flexibility.
the 50/50 is such a good poweramp for the money... it's 100w(or 2x50w) tube which is pretty damn loud. i enjoyed it alot, still do, but my tastes are changing(that happens alot in the rack world, this will be my 4th preamp change in the last couple years, don't even get me started on poweramp changes )... but it alll works great and if i had the money i'd probably keep it all and just buy more stuff..

(@dislexic) How do you think a JMP-1 compares to an ADA MP-1?

i prefer the stock jmp-1 better than the stock mp-1, but for the cost the mp-1 is bad ass... they go for like $150 on ebay... they sound good stock, but they make such good boards for modding that i's almost as if they were made to be modded.
a 3tm(adds a 3rd tube in the signal for more warmth and added gain), 3.666 mod(makes it sound a bit darker and heavier), and a noise mod(reduces operation noise) are thing's i'd get for one.
basically the thing i like so much about them is you can buy one dirt cheap stock and then get them modded to fit your tastes a bit better. in the end it'll probably cost alot with all the modding(unless you're lucky enough to buy one already modded). but i think they're really good preamps.
