whats everyones opinion on system of a down.
as far as im concerned they are god.sure their stuffs not hard,i can play and have been able to play them and ive only been plyin for like2 years.but i guess they really are that easy.its just no one else is like them. knoimsayin?

They used to be cool because of how spastic serj was....and the guitar was always acceptable...nothing impressive though. Ever since they became MTV's poster children, they kind of ate their own ass......have they already been on TRL???

i didnt say Daron was talented, i said he injects a small bit of decency into the music, which meant he is vaguely original and mildy entertaining. that is in no way a compliment to the band, they are terrible, but i imagine Daron could do great things as a solo artist

they're not bad, but they're not great
they need:
more technical riffs
more technical drumming
less gay lyrics
less gay singing (not all of it is gay, just the odd phrase here and there)
solos would be nice on some songs
Some of their songs are okay, especially from the album with the Hand. To get a better perspective of a more mainstream band, you have to check out the songs on the album that would never get radio airplay. The heavy songs never get played on the radio, this is true even for a band like Linkin Park (on the album hybrid theory, that i know). If the average metalhead heard a song from SOAD where the singer didn't sing, they'd actually think it's decent heavy music, just not good enough to buy an album of.
They had a good foundation laid down, they just needed to add a few more things from the list I made above. They also had potential, but then they added more of a nu-metal flavor with their next album (Toxicity), and they screwed it up.
i don't know about the album "Steal this album", since it didn't get much radio airplay (which might be considered good or bad, depending on how you look at it). I heard the song "inner vision".....it needs improvement, but like i said above, you can't judge a band by it's radio hits.

I've heard a some of their songs. A few of them are alright, but I generally don't listen to them. |

I think System of A Down are OK. Got one of there albums and burned the other two. Liked them, but never listened to them much. Just didn't grab me like a band should. With Lamb of God I get goosebumps when I hear them. With System of A Down, I am just kinda like "hmmmmmmf."
