im voting for the third option. Never liked testament, and the fact that skolnick went to play jazz is inexcusable. Marty friedman, while good in megadeth and cacophony, went to J-pop which is almost equally if not more gay.

This is almost like comparing the finest VSOP cognac to the finest malt whiskey. I'd say it's a match, both have their strengths and weaknesses, and they're pretty equal. Too bad they really don't do metal anymore, they'd even make a fine duo. Or even better, they should get back to Testament and Megadeth, do a tour together and really give us a good chance to compare those two.

call me crazy, but i think i like all the stuff that marty friedman did, even the stuff with aikawa nanese; in my opinion, i think that's what makes him such a flexible guitarist, the ability to shine in dozens of genres of music...from shred to metal to pop...i think he's awesome...
