There's nothing wrong with having Dark Angel. I can see confusing it for Slayer if you didn't know different. It's a shame somebody labelled it that way to begin with, though.

Darkness Descends is indeed a great song. I don't really see the confusion, though. The music alone could be of confusion if you are not familiar with either band, but Don Doty really didn't sound enough like Tom Araya for me to see that. But, I was years and years and about 8 albums deep into Slayer before I ever even knew Dark Angel existed, so obviously I was familiar enough. Perhaps that taints my view on the subject, especially considering how familiar I am with both bands now.
By the way, you should get the whole album Darkness Descends, if you like the title track you will like the rest of it. Then check out Leave Scars, it's a heavily underrated thrash classic. Time Does Not Heal is a good album, but don't bother getting it unless you like the other two. Don't bother getting We Have Arrived unless either A: You REALLY want to hear it, or B: You like generic thrash.

On the topic of mislabeling things, there's a file circulating in some p2p networks called "Devon - full military scene.avi". It's not Devon, it's Sylvia Saint. But whatever...

Everything gets mislabelled. I downloaded 10 different files all labelled "Guitar solo in memory of cliff burton" all by different people - all the same file.

The extended intro is somewhat Slayer-like, and Doty, whose voice isn't much like Araya's, still sings like him. They even both do the random falsetto scream over major riffs. I can't tell for sure, as the first time I ever heard Dark Angel I knew it was Dark Angel and was specifically looking for Dark Angel, but if I'd been told this was Slayer I might think it was some pre-Rick Rubin Slayer song I'd somehow missed. Or maybe not. It's hard to tell now, since they both have fairly distinct sounds for me, but it wasn't always like that.

I always get this same damn video. Usually it has some good title "Hot teen gets ass fucked for first time!!" or something and its this crappy other one I've seen a million times. I hate that..

I thought it was just a real early slayer song. And, since it said 'slayer' I just thought, it must be slayer. Sounds enough like them. Whatever.
