I'm looking at a 100W Kustom head (Solid State) with a Behringer B412H cab for $370....Good deal or is it a shitty amp? Give me some feed back on the head, the cab can always be replaced.....

the cab not only has shitty speakers, but it's also made with shitty materials, half ass build quality, and it says behringer(dead give away for crappy guitar gear.)

the head, i've never played, but kustom isnt exactly a good brand name..... we can just put it at that.

if you can get a new halfstack for under $400 new, it's probably crap... physics or something i guess.

try a used bv60 with a used peavey ms412 setup, about the same cost and much better sound.

what a steal... if you're dead set on a 4x12 though, you could resale the cab and the metalzone on ebay for a couple hundred then buy a better used 4x12 like the peavey ms412 i mentioned above(i bought one a long time ago for like $200, but sold it to make ends meet. good cab for the money.).

i also see plenty of other blue voodoo models for sale.... but the bv60 and bv 50 are the cheaper ones....

the only line 6 stuff i really like... the hd147, vetta I and vetta II, the pod pro xt(rack version, not the bean). the flextones arent to bad either,

but i find all the spiders are crap..... the fx are cheesy, the distortion modeling is far from realistic and usually sounds pretty fake and dull imo.. my cousin has a 50w 1x12 spider I combo.... licks balls... to go with his korny $350 ibanez 7 string....

those units work fine, but they're made of plastic so they arent exaclty durable.... great options and flexibility for the money, if you don't abuse gear.
the newer vamp 2's are much better than the old ones, but still not quite up to POD quality imo.

I finally found my perfect amp...

I went to a guitar shop and talked to the guy there and told him i was lookin for a BV and he showed me a BV6212 combo he had. I told him i was lookin for a half stack and he said i could just add a cab to the combo to which i replied, "REALLY?!?!?!?" like a fuckin idiot...anyways, I went back home grabbed my guitar and tested it...AFUCKINMAZING...The amp was used and he was sellin it for $399 (which would've been a steal) but then he starts complementing my playing and offers it to me for $350...that's when I creamed my pants...so yeah, i bought it, ordered a footswitch and i'm now saving up for a cab.....so tell me now, what's a good cab for a BV6212?

Edit: Oh yeah, also, should I change the tubes? Go bigger? what? I've never own a tube amp, school me

err.... $350??? for the bv60 2x12? that's not the best deal i've seen on one... there was one at a local shop for like $250 i think... but blue voodoo's are probably my favorite band for the buck amps... i actually like alot of crate stuff... they have a unique tone...

well, it's not a bad deal by any means, i'm just saying you probably could've got a better deal on one that had a few tears and scuffs on the tolex.. but regardless..

they come stock with groove tubes, which are good tubes imo... but i personally like jj's and mullards(especially for cleans, but they cost mucho$$$) in the poweramp section... jj's and/or sovteks are normally what i like in the preamp...
it's all personal taste. if you like the way it sound with the groove tubes then i wouldnt worry about it for a while, then eventually you might want to experiment, say a set of jj 6l6's, you can just swap the gt's out and see which ones you like better. preamp tubes need be replaced less often...
