A quick question...

What kind of Gibson was Zakk Wylde's Holy Grail?

Did a search on google and all I got was crap. I know it's a Les Paul but is it a 60's or 50's neck, kind of wood, fretboard, ext. Basically the specs.

I believe it's a 1980 custom shop Gibson LP with a Maple neck, 24 3/4" scale, Ebony FB, MOP inlay, Mohogany body, set neck, custom paint job, EMG 81/85, 2 vol 2 tone. He traded guitars with this dude in like 87' for it. It was lost on tour once for about 2 years but is now ZW's again. Anything else?

Its nothing special just your typical les paul, i belive his had a maple neck.. not sure though.

Now what just a minute. I read guitar mags while taking dumps and I have one with ZW in it talking about the story of his Grail. I could be wrong about where he got it, so I will look again, but I know I'm right about the specs.

There may be conflicting stories, since I remember reading the graduation gift one in a guitar mag as well. Though that was around the time he was doing a lot of reflection about his father, which may have flavored the story a bit.

That's your opinion dude. While I do not like Les Pauls or Zack Wylde very much, I do think it seems rather inconsidarate and immature to voice an opinion as if it is a fact.

i remember hearin the same as soulinsanes about him loosin his guitar on tour. I think it fell out of the bus or somet. Cant remeber the rest. I also heard about there bein some dude who bought it for real cheap from some store. This was a long time back though, bout a year and abit

It was stolen, then recently somone bought it from a pawn shop not knowing it was Zakk's. He took off the pickups and noticed that "ZW" was enscribed on the back of them. Thats when he contact Zakk's management.

i heard mordors story, him and some other people were packing a u-hall full of his gear and some dumbfuck didnt lock it so when they got on the highway shit was falling out, they went back and got all but the grail, then he got it back soem years later...

Thats just how I read it was lost; out the back of the unlocked van. It showed up in a pawn shop and went through 2 poeple before this dude was cleaning it and found that it was ZW's, just the way BLS said.

If I were ZW I would have nearly killed the fucking roadies, but could you imagen driving down the road and guitars are on the road waiting for you to pick them up? One of them being the Grail? I would be damned if it would have gone to a pawn shop.
