If you mean that it's best to mix up various pick and strum techniques, I agree. If you mean that a chugging E riff should be picked alternately rather than using all downstrokes, I'd have to disagree. It's just, always, what technique the music calls for; the song itself, being ontologically prior, is what all else, including technique, is derived from by necessity.

i force my mother to listen to lots of nice music, she only complains when i put on manowar too, oh and when they start swearing loudly and understandably.
I used to be more metal than my parents even when i was little though, my faterh bpugh a ceap Sabbath/Preist split cd thing that was released and i used to steal it to listen to Judas Priest, whom my father doesnt really like.

My mom really likes Children of Bodom. When she was a teenager she was really into Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and she says Children of Bodom sounds like Maiden, only sped up. She can satdn screaming vocals but not much growling.

Personally, I do admit if I was 12 or under and played guitar I would certainly go for the blackheart design, but I'm not 12 and I don't play guitar. The flower guitars look plain sucky, there is actually a butterfly variety which would be absolutely godawful to hold and it looks bad.

They are much lighter and the necks are thinner, easy to hold, and little girls like things pretty and sparkly and heart shaped, unless they're freaks like me. The manual is pop-rock oriented, it's suposed to have quite a large chord dictionary but I doubt any of the girls who use it end up using more than 3 of them.
