the exorcist rocks. problem is, i watched it with my gf and a few of her mates and they were all pissed as fuck. two of them had seen it before and so the real horrifying parts got spoiled. ah well, it was still a damn good movie.
fuck i just got up again. 3am i got up, my family went on a hot-air balloon flight to celebrate my mums 50th bday. quite good actually despite the massive allergic reactions i suffered due to hayfever. had a fancy-arse breakfast including 4 glasses of champagne (good stuff too) then came home and ive just woken up.
i need more sleep  |

Well i come home, and theres an message on the phone and my comp was fixed... odd, but they said the power cord in the back was loose, and they pluged it back in, the cool thing is it didn't cost me a cent!!!

Procrastination is, in fact, the greatest hobby one could ever hope to have the luxury to afford. I can't afford it, but employ it's use anyway because I'm a douchebag. Hell, look at what I did in the beginning of September. I did some tabs and I corrected like 10 or 12 of my older tabs. On that pace, I would have done like 5 new tabs and updated like 20-24 tabs that month. But did I? Hell, no. I procrastinated all the way through to the present. I haven't done anything in like a whole month except start two Morbid Angel requested tabs and finish a 40 second long Fates Warning song. Hahaha... Procrastination kicks ass and so do I.

Wellllll, be proud of me ....after only 3 weeks of practicing downpicking I can almost play Master of Puppets along with the cd, and Iced Earth's The Coming Curse up to tempo. BTW, 3 weeks ago was the first I EVER tried the downpicking technique. Damn, it's late...time for Simpsons 4th season and beer  HA, I type faster too

How the hell did you pick before? I learned how to downpick first. It took me a long time to learn to alternate pick accurately. Those first couple of years it was pretty difficult to play Slayer, I can tell you that!

I downpicked everything initially, and very awkwardly because I, like most absolute beginners, sucked terribly, then learned to alternate pick, then learned that some people prefer downpicking in places where it would be more convenient to alternate pick, and learned that. But I over applied it, because you often hear how people like James Hetfield and Scott Ian always downpicked, so now I actually downpick a lot of things that are actually done differently, just because I can do it fast enough. But occasionally my arm falls off at the elbow, at which point I hunt Scott Ian down and whack his bald head with it.
I'm with Chris in being surprised that you hadn't started doing that yet. I can't imagine metal rhythm guitar without the fun of downpicking much too fast. It will help your masturbation as well, so maybe you'll be less sweaty when you whack your dong. Or more.

Well, not all Old Mans Child songs I would say is downpicked music. That's pretty much what I started with. Other than that, well, Led Zeppelin and Van Halen rarely downpick. The difference is that you guys started with Slayer. I didn't know who slayer was until I was years into guitar playing.

I've never listened to Old Man's Child. And 'Communication Breakdown' has a downpicking riff. It's the main one. Metallica have about 3,000, as do Anthrax.
Slayer aren't big downpickers. I started with a lot of classic rock, but Metallica and Pantera at the same time.

Well I knew about downpicking for probably the past 5 years and never felt like learning it. I was doing fine with alternate. Now I started to realize it makes some sort of "difference."
