How To Use A 10-Band EQ?

Well I was looking at some online today, and I'm wondering what does each row do to the sound?

All I really know is theres 12 rows 1 for gain, 1 for volume, and the other 10 I have nooooooooooooooo fucking clue, so can anyone help me understand them?

I dont have a EQ pedal but i do have cakewalk audio pro and it has an EQ. The 10 slides are called frequencies i think. Basically it changes the sound. I still dont
know what each do but this is what it says.

32Hz 64Hz 130Hz 260Hz 500Hz 1k 2k 4k 8.3k 16.5k

Each row is for is for a specific frenquency range. Setting them all in the middle at 0 neither bootst of cuts a frenquency. The bass frenquencies start at the left rows, goes into the mids at the middle rows and the highs at the right rows. You can boost or cut the volume of specific frenquecies to help tighten up your tone. It's a great tool to have because it allows you to really shape your sound.

pretty much what he said...

the farther to the left the "lower" the frequencies get. i use mine simply to boost my mids after the bbe sonic maximizer because it gives me a little more scoop than i want.

Ok, so I've been messing around with winamp, and is 10 band EQ, and what I have learned is: The first 3 rows are bass, the next 4 are the mids, and the last 3 would be the treb?

I like to start mine in an inverted V then work from their adding more bass, less mids, more highs..
