No. Most people are cynical like Chris. And then there is the conflict with just about every religion that projecting brings about. What do you think Christians think about it? It is considered heresy.

And then there are higher astral planes.

It's possible to flip over a card without actually seeing it, but would be far too unreliable of a method to retain credibility. If you happen to already know what the card it, it doesn't matter if you identify the card while you believe you are astrally projecting yourself, since you'd mentally retain the information. It wouldn't be lost, just like it wouldn't be lost coming back from your astral projection into consciousness.

Like I said, it would make more sense to have somebody put something in your room while your sleeping and take it away before you wake up. The only problem with this is, as I've mentioned, the cycles in which humans sleep, and the frequency with which one experiences semi-consciousnesss throughout the night.

Now, if you can physically draw energy from one part of your body to another, I'm curious why you feel the need to waste energy. Your body produces energy for the purposes of keeping your system going and allowing you to complete your everyday tasks. So how exactly are you drawing your energy from one part of your body to another part? You're not. You're drawing body heat, when I relax I can do it. If you really can manipulate your energy, why not transfer it to somebody else's body to really prove your theory? Or, even better, take your energy and fill an object with it, see what happens. Maybe it will move or suddenly become hot or glow or something. I'd be very interested in finding out the results of any such experiments if you'd actually go through with them.

Now, energy does exist. Energy has to exist, or else this planet and all of it's inhabitants couldn't exist. Humans produce their own energy by metabolising water and food. The problem is, human beings can not consciously manipulate energy. If humans could consciously manipulate energy, would be far more powerful than we are. We'd be able to steal energy from other sources. People with cancer would be able to rob energy from the malignant cells, thereby killing it. We could even project energy onto other objects or even through the air.

If you can prove me wrong, I certainly hope you do, because it would literally be a scientific breakthrough. Now, if you are as convinced of all this stuff as you seem, you should certainly do everything possible to prove it to the world, because you'd be sitting on a scientific goldmine. Believe me, I'm 100% interested in the subject you speak of, I simply don't put much stock into it because it's entirely unfeasible. So if I'm wrong, you have a responsibility to make us all aware, because the power and longevity of the human race would be limitless if we really had the ability to control and manipulate energy.

It isn't quite a hypothesis either, for hypotheses are based on reliable evidence. In the absence of that, it can not be considered a hypothesis.

Now, here's where things get interesting. He seems very convinced of these entities, and I'm hoping he can produce actual evidence. Now, if he does produce reliable evidence and presents it to people, it then becomes a hypothesis. Now that it's a hypothesis, there are scientists everywhere wanting to either prove or disprove this hypothesis. Every option would be explored. Now, what happens if this is real? Can you imagine the things we'd all be capable of?

Do I believe this? No. In fact, I'm as sure as a person can possibly be about anything that these entities are false. I've also been wrong about things before, and therefore acknowledge (and hope) that I might be wrong about this and that he might be right. Now, if he is right, I'm sure there's something he can do to prove he's right. Like I said in my last post, if he's right, he's sitting on a scientific gold mine.

Bullshit. A hypothesis is an educated guess. No prove in that...

EDIT: thie proof is called "scientific method"...

I should have made a distinction in a previous post; I'm writing about my energy body, my etheric body. This is really complicated. If you truly are as interested as you claim, read "Astral Dynamics" by Robert Bruce. I found mine at Barnes and Noble two years ago. This is where my theories come from, I'm not being profound here. If you find it fallacious, so be it.

An educated guess would be the layman's understanding of the word hypothesis. Scientifically, a hypothesis is almost like a baby theory. There needs to be palpable evidence that it is based on before it is accepted as a hypothesis. Once explored more thoroughly, it can become a theory, and, eventually, fact.

You, like the general public, are probably used to the words hypothesis and theory being thrown around in use out of their natural context.

I question everything.

What do you see as their "proper" context? A theory is not a proven fact, and neither is a hypothesis. It is just an educated guess at probable former evidence. Like you said but in different words (which may make some difference) I don't understand what you said about "general public." Are you implying that college teachings are "general public?" No offense, I see "general public" as an insult. I am no mob, and am an individual. I don't see myself as part of any general idea....

You could always "astral project" your self the easy way and do drugs like pcp, dxm, ketamine or any other dissasociative drug that puts you in that out of body experience. Ive heard of people going to different planets or galaxys or dimensions and talking "god-like" entities while theyre in that dissasociative state. Its all really interesting and hope that someday i can experiene somthing like that myself, through drugs or meditation. even if it is just an "illusion" it would still be somthing great to me.

As do I. It's just that I've been meditating on the concept of the astral for over two years now. I have a pretty good idea of what I believe. The only thing left for me to do to fully prove it to myself if actually project, and become experienced in it in order to fully form a final belief.

I see you as a human being, and therefore, likely to glean words from other people, i.e. the general public. The general public does not understand the context in which many words should be used in and often misuses them. For example, how often have you heard some every day Joe Schmoe describe a certain belief as a hypothesis or theory? It's quite common. As an example, let's say some guy is talking about how he thinks Asians like sandwiches. How often would somebody conclude their stupid thoughts with, "well, that's my theory, anyway" or preclude it with "well, I have a hypothesis".

This is how those words are misused. Was it much of a stretch for me to think this is how you understood the words? No, not giving the way you defined them. The word hypothesis should be strictly used in conjuction with scientific study, that is how the word was meant to be used. I also said that hypotheses are always based on some sort of palpable evidence, this is also true. Hypotheses are when ideas start getting serious, but not quite serious enough or accepted widely enough to be considered a theory. Neither hypotheses nor theories are proven facts, but they are both based on real evidence.

Now, the evidence is what really makes the difference. You said an educated guess, but what constitutes an educated guess is far too subjective to even considered a legitimate way of defining something. Educated guesses aren't strictly based on legitimate evidence, while hypotheses are. This is why I said you were wrong.

As for questioning everything, good. You should question everything. This prevents people from easily tricking you. This is the foundation of a scientific mind, to always keep an open mind, yet retain a sense of skepticism. If a person doesn't keep an open mind, they will never learn anything intersting. If they don't retain skepticism, they will be easily brainwashed or tricked into believing nonsense.

ehhh, what? I am a human being and so are you. The thing that bothers me is that in my eyes you are my general public. Same backwards because we obviously don't trust each other. So far in my years i haven't heard anyone speak their "theories" or "hypothesis" about anything. They only speak their mind, definately not trying to sound scientific.

If it wasn't a stretch to figure out what I was really saying, why do you just to conclusions based on assumptions? The rest of this qouted part is just you agreeing with me in an arguementary manner.

educated guesses are the definition of a hypothesis. If you were born and raised in texas, that is what you were taught in all the child courses as the specific definition of a hypothesis. So it's imparative that I base this quote on you being redundant.

People constantly say things like "I have a theory" or "here's my hypothesis". I hear it from people, and I know it's not just a regional thing because you see it on TV, too. I'm not sure why you're so offended by my including you and the general public in the same sentence. You pick up things from other people, i.e. the general public. So do I. The general public has a misconception as to what the word hypothesis means. So do you. It's not that much of a jump for me to conclude you gleaned this misinformation from the general public, whether this is from the school system or not.

I don't follow the first sentence, I'm not sure what that's supposed to be read as. The second sentence I understand, but I don't see your point or it's relevance to this discussion. I wasn't speaking to a mob, I was speaking to you, so I'm not really sure what you meant by that.

No, the rest of my post is me reiterating what I said before you ever responded to me, which would mean that if anybody were agreeing in an argumentative manner, it would be you. Remember, you called bullshit on my original explanation of the word 'hypothesis'. My explanation hasn't changed since then, so if my words seem to be in agreeance with yours, then the fact that you were the one who called bullshit would mean that you are agreeing in a argumentative way.

Educated guesses might be what they teach you the definition of a hypothesis is, in which case you shouldn't feel bad about it being wrong. I actually know what you are saying and can empathize. If I weren't personally so involved in science, I wouldn't understand the true nature of the word hypothesis, because as a kid, they taught me the same meaning that you currently believe.

You are right that I'm being redundant, because my definition hasn't changed, which means, as I've said before, that I certaintly am not agreeing with you in an argumentative way.

eh.,,well I haven't. It's not that you included me in the same sentence, it just made it sound like, "I am the general public" and usually always wrong. I'd like to call the general public as misguided stupid people who are not in school anymore because they dropped out for the "real world." In other words, they are the young adults who consider themselves to be very wise in experience. I have had my share of experience, but am still a little close minded. I wouldn't want to get into wisdom with you, because neither of us have aquire a fair share of it yet I think. I'm talking about the asshole you say you see on tv....

ha, You'll laugh at this, I was basing that reference on an assumption that I was your general public and you thought me as "part of the mob."

The general public of America at this point is college educated. Since most of us aren't finished with college, they tend to have more schooling than you (us), not less. But way to feel that the 'general public' has less education. A feeling of inherent superiority is always good.

Chris, however, was talking about the way in which the word 'hypothesis' is understood by average high school students, as far as I can tell.

Night, all.

Public education will always be mediocre, for the same reason that in a big kitchen the food is usually bad.

Salvia Divinorum is much better for out of body experiences and stuff. people report of being launched into other galaxies, universes, other times. People report of living a full life as someone else, living as the paint on the wall, living in other countries and crazy shit. Plus the shit is legal. go figure. i tried it once, it's insane. you must get some.

yeah, i havent done salvia yet but its on my "to do" list of drugs. heres an interesting story about a perticular guys salvia trip. my friends that have done it havent had trips this intense, but they still have seen crazy shit. Salvia

Note that this guy had really concentrated chemicals that he extracted from the plant, he didnt just take a normal hit of salvia.
