I dont know websites but Putrid Pile, Foetopsy, and Dyscrasia are the Brutal Death bands, my own band is ok but nowhere near the awesomeness of those bands. They shred, also we have Jungle Rot an established band that i am not a big fan of myself but some might know them.

I'm actually the only kickass thing in my area code. The only local bands I know of are the following:

1. A dissonant folk band. Yes, you heard me: a dissonant folk band. And not because they try to sound good and just fail miserably; the autocrat writing the songs is a pretentious twat with a lot of music theory knowledge put to very little use. The main singer and lead guitarist is pretty good, in a folk/blues/rock sort of way, but is basically under the twat's thumb. No good will come of this.

2. A seven-piece group that sounds like early Radiohead if they'd had way too many guitars, no idea how to use them, and a lasting dose of semi-political intellectual angst. The drummer is pretty good, and one of the three guitarists is pretty good and very, very creative, which would be enough if it weren't for the following: the drummer's in about a dozen other bands, and the guitarist can't be heard over the wall of noise. If their individual songs sound different, you can't hear over the loud, misused guitars.

And then some typical half-baked college bands. They're all college students, they all have their heads in their asses, and they all suck. If I run into a good band, though, you'll all be the first to know.

There is no metal scene in Maryland, at least not where I live. All the bands around here are pretty much emo. There are some good ones though. Systik is one, they aren't metal but they play straight rock and are good at it. Vanderbilt is another, they're kind of like emocore I guess????

Not metal, but VERY awesome. The demos on the site are really bad quality, but the songs are good. Saw them live, they ruled ass! There was one song where it got quiet in the middle and my friend started yelling he liked it so much, and the vocalist started laughing and said "We're not done yet!" Really good.
