Power/Thrash Metal
I've been listening to Iced Earth and Metallica, and just started getting into Blind Guardian, are there any other bands like this that I should look into?

I could rattle off a list of about 962,143 thrash bands here, so instead I will focus on power-thrash.
Mercyful Fate/King Diamond
Helloween
Fates Warning
Watchtower
Listen to as much Watchtower as possible. You can't beat Watchtower. Nobody can.
Also check out every Bay Area band, all the ones I've heard are great- Forbidden, Violence, Testament, Exodus, Dark Angel, Death Angel, etc.

i know im kind of repeating the question, but can anybody recomend any specific bands that are Thrash oruientated power metal, such as Grave Digger, Wizard or even (gasp) Manowar? I have hers some other more powery metal (such as Sonata Arctica and Kamalot) and they are too pansy for my taste, i like my power metal to have some guts in the music.

Nevermore have guts to their music. They're a bunch of former thrash and death musicians (Pat O'Brien of Cannibal Corpse started out there) with a power-style vocalist.

I wouldn't classify all those bands as Thrash...
(Although I still listen to alot of them)
Here's my list:
Anthrax
Old Metallica
Testament
Death Angel (Great Band)
Megadeth
Kreator
Pantera
Iced Earth
Iron Maiden (Have some very thrashy albums)
Jag Panzer (Don't listen to them too much but they sound like Maiden)
Theres alot more out there...

Anyone ever hear Evergrey?
I think theyre alright. Good Power/Progressive stuff. The guitarist is pretty good. They have melodic licks too.
check out www.bnrmetal.com if youd like a list of power/thrash metal bands or better yet any type of metal bands.
