Zakk Wylde pinch harmonics
Does anyone know how to nail them like Zakk does?
If you're just gonna call me stupid or tell me I suck, then don't bother posting.

How about looking in the official pinch harmonic thread at the top of this very forum?

Just practise. That's the only way to find the right spots. You can find the information on the technique elsewhere. The secret to the squeals is finding where to pick, when you want a certain harmonic pitch for a certain fret. For every fret, you can make a pinch harmonic - actually many of them - but you have to know where to put the pick, and you can only learn through practising. Between the 5th and 12th you should be able to find at least 3 different harmonic squeals for every fret. You need to find the positions for a certain squeal and a certain fret first. If you move a fret up, you'll have to move your pick up too. If you move a fret down, you'lle move your pick down too. It's all about experience, there's no other way to find the right spot to make the Zakk squeals. Of course, you need hot pickups and some serious distortion, but to find the right sounding ones, the most important thing is to find them, on your guitar, with your picking hand and your pick.

Def is never sober, although at times he is just 'less drunk'!

I don't have any advice, but I have a comment. If you can get your pinch harmonics to sound as good as Wylde's, that'd be great, but one you do, don't (over)use them nearly as often as Zakk does. It gets to be overkill after a while.

Alot of what Zakk Wylde's pinch harmonics sound like are products of the thing that has already been stated many times on this thread. Practice. You also have to remember that on Zakk's albums, (and any other good bands' albums for that matter) several weeks are sometimes spent on a song recording to get the sound just right. As it has already been stated, Zakk also doubles the sound over any pinch harmonic to make it more intense sounding.
However, I have been able to achieve Zakk's sound somewhat by using a delay pedal. Simply put the time inbetween each reverb at an extra low setting and put the repeats way up. This creates the illusion of a more intense sound. Just turn the pedal off when you're not playing a pinch harmonic.

I spent 3 month to get it perfect. i can hit it every time. All i runn is a marshall 8100 and vitange cab, and an ibanez. Yes an ibanez. the only thing i did was switch to 60-10 zakk sig strings. Well really there retaining cables. but you get the idea.all you have to do is turn up the reverb and hit your sweet spot. Every gutiar has a differnt one. mine is right on the tail end of my neck side pickup. Hit the string with your pick and on the down stroke hit the string (very , very gently) and bend the string.................and practice.
