ahhhh! I got a big test next class but it only counts 15% of the final grade; 50 questions, 6 short anwer, 1 essay(no shorter than a full page). It's a class called Music in the Human Imagination, and it's basically a music class to: introduce the listening of other cultures' music, develop listening skills, provide a technical vocabulary, and establish relations between musical cultures. In other words, it's a fucking shit course but it is required for me.

Thats bulshit!
but i guess its better than some of the ones i have to do, for Gov't & The Economy, we have 4 tests, each worth 25%, each consisting of 25 marks about 20 marks multi choice, 5 in short answer questions (except the last test which is a take home essay question thing). I consider that to be harsh, as you acidentally colour the wrong box and you loose the mark, where as with bits MORE like yours there is averaging, so you generally will do better, but i guess between us we basically cover the 2 extremes.

Ha, the test was a success! Yeah BoC, but although it counts only 15%, there's still test 2 which counts another 15%, attendance and participation that's another 15%, a midterm paper that's 15%, a final paper that's 20%, and lastly, a cumulative final exam that counts as 20%. ....little things do add up...

Hell High School is so overrated. I spend an hour and thirty minutes looking at these forums and other sites. Thirty minutes eating. an hour and thirty minutes walking around the school "fixing teacers computers" and three hours sleeping. Plus all of our test are multiple choice. What a joke eh?

i dont start before 10am ANY day of the week, also im home by lunchtime on fridays and 4 pm MOST other days, on all days i have AT LEAST 1 hour free at uni too. Basically i have about 21 hours of class a week.

The Uncertainty Principle takes into account this discrete nature of space and so it is remarkable how it has been derived from a theory based on continous space. Also, the Uncertainty Principle has Planck's constant as an intrinsic part of it. [If Planck's constant is set to zero, then Quantum Mechanics reduces to a classical system that obeys Newtonian Mechanics] This becomes important because General Relativity does not incorporate Planck's constant.
How he did it, I just don't know! Even if I did know, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to follow and understand his proof. Pretty remarkable stuff.

Do you know about the 'chemistry' theory of uncertainty? I bumped into an old friend who's about to be a Biology grad told me about it. The ramdomness of atoms' electron clouds; if I were to poke a table with my finger indefinately, at one point in time my finger would slid right through the table without leave a mark on the table. Of course, if that actually happened electrons are moving so fast that the instant my finger goes through, it would be stuck because the electron clouds have moved again and I'd have to cut my finger off to get it out. ...heh, I would literally be one with the table....hah, yeah I'm drunk now.

This is Quantum tunnelling - everytime you touch the table hundreds of thousands of electrons will 'tunnel' through to the other side of the table. However, as Quantum Mechanics is statistical, the chances of your whole finger passing through the table are exceedingly small, so small in fact that it isn't even worth considering the odds.
The electrons don't pass through the table because they are travelling fast, they pass through because there is a possibility that they can be at the other side of the table - even though it would seem impossible. This effect is the aforementioned 'tunnelling' but it is also referred to as barrier penetration. Welcome to the strange world of Quantum Mechanics!
