Renaisance(sp)/middle ages guitar
Anyone know of tabs/songs that sound like renaisance/middle ages music? I learned all of dissections instrumentals, basically shit that sounds like that?

you never know, look how far that classical thread went
i used to know a peice like that, bit i cant fucking remember who did it or what song it was
if you have any ulver albums they sometimes put classical type peices like that in there in the middle of the first song and nattens madrigal is a good example

I think the acoustic intro to Metallica's "Fight Fire With Fire" is pretty reminicent of Renaissance type stuff.

Solitude by Black Sabbath from Master Of Reality DEFINETLY sounds medieval. Just make sure to play both the bass and the the guitar cuz it's mainly a bass song. Also, Fluff by Black Sabbath from Sabbath Bloody Bloody Sabbath sounds kinda medieval-ish (it's acoustic though).

Greensleeves is about as traditional and medieval as you can get. Ralph Vaughan-Williams made a composition of it about 100 years ago but it had been around for centuries before that. There are many, many tabs of it knocking about on the internet - just do a google search.

His English isn't bad, he just used a comma where he shouldn't and used 'have' instead of 'has'.

And rightly so. If people can't understand your explained method due to poor English, what's the point of doing the calculation? It is important that English is pristine in mathematics as defining problems at the advanced stage requires an excellent grasp of English and English grammar. So basically, it's good to get into practise early.

Most mathematicians I know speak better English than aspiring poets and authors. Not that the English majors don't know how to speak properly; they just don't care.
I remember that, after I played Iced Earth's Burnt Offerings to a friend of mine, he always referred to it as 'that Renaissance metal band,' if that helps. Aside from that, I remember an amusing song called 'Totus floreo,' but I can't precisely recall the period.

Can we get a mod in here to wipe out the past like 5 posts (and this one)?

The thread was getting back on topic - note that the last things posted before you put in your request were recommendations of Renaissance-era and Renaissance-sounding songs - so there's no need to delete anything. Even if there was, let the mods get to it themselves or address them privately; it's their job.
Also, 'Fluff' is not on Master of Reality, but rather Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

Don't forget to check out Ancient Rites. They are a black metal band with some semi-heavy renaisance stuff, especially on the Fatherland CD. Check them out a really great band that isn't mentioned a lot.
