Ankles
I came back home from a day of wearing boots and my ankles are seriously fucked. I can't heel toe for shit now. Lesson no 1 - boots that provide too much support for the ankle are not good. Anyway, if anyone has any good tips on how to maintain strong ankles, please share them.

erm I can heel toe and double kick fine in my brand new docs, so what boots where you wearing?????
as for ankle exercises, a good one is to just keep rolling your ankles when you are sitting down etc, try rolling them both in opposite directions etc. it is meant to be really good for them.

Millitary boots. I wore millitary boots for about 3 years now on a regular basis, so yeah, my ankles are fucked, because the boots don't allow for sufficient movement, you can't sprain your ankle if you lace them properly but it makes your ankles become really weak.

Barefoot is a perfectly good way to play. You do need to concentrate on your feet, but make sure you give your hands attention too, and that your limbs are independent of each other,but are still co-ordinated and are capable of speeds similar to each other. I found that a great shoe to play in is a simple running shoe, but barefoot is great.

Converse are pretty good to play in because they are thin but its hard as hell to play in bigger shoes like skating shoes.

i played in these one kind of skate shoes,i dont konw what kind,but sole on the heel was significantly higher than the toe.kinda helped.otehr than that sox

yeah I tried to do that, but I it was too big and I couldn't hit my drums properly, I would hit liek 3 things at once
and I also didn't have any flexibility, I only ever got one hit, but damn it was loud!!!
