I don't care how much they shaped today's metal, i don't like them. I think it's mainly the vocals.

I really dig Maiden. I like the two newest albums too. Maiden is good. Accept it.

The newest Iron Maiden album I have is The X Factor and I like it. Their best work was Somewhere in Time and they will never top it. The newest album of theirs I heard was Brave New World and I thought it was very good. Not quite as good as Killers or Somewhere in Time, but very good nonetheless.

AH, fuckin Powerslave. Hell yeah. First time I ever heard them was on Grand Theft Auto Vice City. Aces High and Two Minutes to Midnight own. Only they could get away with a song like 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner'.

Fuck people. Powerslave is great, too. They had a lot of stellar stuff, and some decent stuff, but nothing I can think of is actually bad or below average.

Iron Maiden kicks ass
one of the ONLY bands who manage to keep their sound yet not get repetitive.
and FYI Priest and Maiden came around about the same time, but it took Maiden longer to get signed cause every label wanted them to be punk, and Harris refused.

Priest were around much earlier than Maiden. Priest got started around 71-72, Maiden around 76-77. Not sure on the exact dates, but I'm sure I got the approximate time frame.

Before any more of you pre-pubescent goons pull out the 'grandpa' calls, I would remind you that all the bands you love and that you think are so hardcore and brutal grew up listening to Iron Maiden and they all love it. Why? Because it's great. Shut up.

Can you really judge sexual orientation by what music somebody likes? How does it work? I mean, by what criteria was the decision 'Iron Maiden fan = gay' made? And, more importantly, does the 'gay' Maiden influence taint every band that's owned up to it (like every thrash band, every power metal band, by inference every death and black metal band, and anyone else to play music with a distorted guitar, some technical ability, speed, and melody. Oh, and Sum 41)? I mean, that's making the entire post-Maiden metal genre gay. Which is fine, if that's what you're out to do, but I definitely wouldn't go around saying it. I don't think I'd even call the Sum 41 fans gay.
And whoever says that Somewhere in Time is Maiden's worst album needs to be strapped into a chair and forced to listen to their stuff without Adrian and Bruce - which isn't bad per se, but isn't the slice of fantastic Maiden usually is. Actually, I'm almost inclined to agree with Mr. Rezendes's assessment; Powerslave and Piece of Mind probably have stronger strong songs, but Somewhere in Time doesn't really have a weak song - in comparison with the rest of the album, not in absolute terms - on it, which both of the former do. Then again, Maiden hit a stretch from Killers to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son where I couldn't possibly definitively prefer any one record to the other. And they're still good.

Your first paragraphy goes into detail what I generally try to sum up. The only difference is that I don't distinguish it so much as sexual orientation as I do a lame insult. I'm not sure why people try to resort to insulting somebody just because they like one band we're not very fond of. It's completely inane.
As far as Somewhere in Time, I have to love that album, it has my favorite Iron Maiden song, "Sea of Madness". I love that song. By the way, in my opinion that stretch would have started at the self-titled album.
You don't need to call me Mr. Rezendes, it's far too formal both for the forum and for me personally. I'm Chris, dude. That works for me. Everyone should call me Chris except for Transient, who should call me "Daddy".

My first paragraph is just my attacking an idiotic statement with steadfast mock seriousness, stuffing it with logic until it bursts at the seams. It's fun but exhausting and brain-numbing and I'll probably do it in fewer words in the future.
The self-titled album was good, but rough around the edges. I tend to judge by Adrian Smith's joining and departure; it's a mindset I've gotten into and never really left. They don't really have a bad record, just some that aren't as good.
I called you 'Mr' because it was far too formal (for the forum, since I didn't know you); I like the absurd over-formality of it. But it'll be Chris from now on, and I will do my best to see to it that Transient calls you Daddy.
