Heres what it says on the bottle:

The ale is produced to a 16th century Scots - Gaelic recipe from malted barley "bree", sweet gale and heather flowers. The hot ale is infused in heather flowers before being fermented in copper tuns. Fraoch has a floral, peaty aroma, full malt body, a spicy herbal flavour and a dry wine like finish.


That pretty much sums it up, although I don't really taste a dry wine like finish. The floral/herbal flavours are not too overpowering, which can be a problem with some of these fancy ales. Goes down very smoothly

Yeah I forgot about badger! they do some great beers, and some dodgy ones like chocolate ale and toffee ale - not a fan of those.

never had chocolate or toffee, i'll have to check them out for a try. golden glory is flavoured with peach blossoms - very nice. and champion is flavoured with elderflower. both are great in my opinion, although not my fave ales. honey ales are also nice.

Sorry Brit's but I don't like your beer...that Old Speckeled Hen just tastes like the majority of the beer I've tried from Britain... Recently, I've tolerated the taste of Boddington's Pub Ale but had a strong dislike for Black Sheep Ale..it all tastes like it's made with molasses.

We get a lot of big American beer's here...so there's not much selection.

It usually seems the imports are usually not the best, so of course you cannot buy Adnam's ale here..maybe at a fine beer pub. Just like canadian beer exports, which is usually Moosehead or Molson Canadian...which are fucking garbage and NO ONE drinks here.

Alexander Keith's is HUGE in my province, and for good reason.

PBR's not bad at all for a 30-rack beer. But as I'm in Chicago, I tend to go for Old Style when the apartment gets its nightly rack. PBR also seems to have a particular redneck chic for the hipster fools, so you might be considered cool for drinking it.

But the biggest news for beer lovers in Chicago is that the New Belgium brewery finally started to ship Fat Tire this far East, and that stores are tending to have specials on flats of it.

I got super drunk in december. My husband had never seen me drunk before. and it was him and his twins (my other best friend) birthday.

A lot of Aussie beers are shitty; the alcohol they export that's worth anything is wine (and even some of that's absolute shit). A lot of American beers are good. We just don't export the good ones, so nobody outside of America (and quite a few people inside America) have no idea that we actually make some good beer.

I've never drunk american beers really, apart from Bud and Coors and that shite, not as good as anthing else I've drunk. Only "aussie" beer i've had is Fosters but apparently even the aussies don't drink it, not surprised really, it's awful!
