hell yea! sounds pretty good. tonight i bought a winter mix pack from sam adams. i'm not the biggest fan of their boston lager but its bettter than a lot of other major companies, and the cranberry lambic i really don't like very much...but the rest of them are pretty good. holiday porter, old fezziwig ale, winter lager, and black lager.

My friend recently started drinking St. Ides high gravity. I looked it up that bitch has 10.2 percent alcohol. He said 2 fucked him up pretty decient. Then he had some more beers and was good to go.

I really like Mickeys 40s, as its a pretty solid malt liqour, not to mention if you get them int he 12 oz bottles htey are little hand grenades.

they don't sell 40s here..but occasionally when my roommates or i get out of the state, we bring some back for old times sake. i have an empty 40 of oe in my collection of beers i've drank.

its pretty good. i've only had 4 of them in my whole life, so i'm not really familiar with it..but its good..but not great. they chose to make a safe beer...as in it doesn't have a really unique flavor that makes it stand out..even compared to some of the other beers in this winter pack. i could drink them all day and night. i'd say give it a shot..you'll probably like it. i'm pretty sure its a seasonal beer though, so time is ticking.

I just polished off my 64oz growler of Propeller IPA draught and I'm sipping a St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout. A little over rated if I do say so myself, but still really good.

i was just at this show..no not a metal show...and this club has beers for 4 bucks..basically bud, bud light, high life, and another beer or two of similar caliber. or for a dollar more you can get some pretty good shit like sierra nevada pale ale, guinness, bass, stella artois, etc. i was intent on drinking some beer while watching my friends band play so i said fuck it and threw in the extra buck and got some sierra nevada. ive had three of their beers, and i really like each one.

edit..now i'm closing the night with a glass of bushmills irish whiskey on a few ice cubes.

yea 4 for the few cheaper beers and 5 for a better (much better mostly) beer. the prices suck..but you can't leave and come back so its pretty much it. i'm fairly sure i've seen st. ambroise at the beer store here...or some other st. heh is it an "abbey ale"? the stuff i'm thinking of is, and has a painting of a monk on at least one kind of their beers..that at least at this store, come in 4 packs.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure..about the design for the St. Ambroise in a dragon/griffin type animal. I got mine in 6 pack form. And it's from dirty Quebec...not brewed by Belgium monks.

Lot's of BAer's seem to be able to buy it at least in the north east, if you see it it's definitely worth trying.

hey grafcore, i tried the winter lager last night. i'll stick with the brown ale

yea..not too familiar with their brown ale..but in general i like ales more than lagers.

damn, then you need to try the brown ale! i mean, im the opposite, and prefer lager, but the brown ale is like a less dark version of the black lager, in which, i thought it might as well be considered that, and made into "brown lager". anyway, i prefer it to even my favorite, which was black lager.

i've had the brown ale before a couple times..i remember thinking it was good,but i don't buy sam adams very often...usually just here and there when they have the seasonal variety packs. so like the winter lager..i've only had about 4 or so beers...or else 6 since i've only bought the other pack i've seen 2 or 3 times.

being friday/payday...i'm debating what to pick up for the weekend...beer or liquor...good beer...or some good beer and plenty of shitty beer. i feel quilty drinking a bunch of really good beer to get drunk..i'd prefer to start off with a few nice ones then move onto something a little friendlier to my wallet for mass consumption.

I am a fool, a non-government beer store sells it, I checked out their new catalogue today and it was there. They sell several Unibroue products, which all seem to be rated very highly. $18 a 6 pack is pretty extreme, but the alcohol percentages are extremely high and it is supposed to be a very high quality beer.

They also sell 18 styles of Rogue, at $7.99 a bomber..which I have to pick up sometime.

Has anyone tried any Flying Dog beer? They have quite a selection of that was well, but I've never tried it...among other beers they have there.

our store here doesn't carry that many styles of rogue unfortunately. they are usually $5 a bomber (as long as thats the big bottle thats more than a pint). i really like the shakespheare stout.

orkney ale skull splitter from scotland. first taste was a bit too bitter for me..but after a few, i didn't notice or else kinda liked it? maybe it was the corned beef and mustard sandwich i just finished? its pretty good stuff..not really sure what the alcohol content is...just saw on BA that its 8.5%

i also bought a bottle of sierra nevada celebration ale. its basically just some winter holiday seasonal beer. had a decent head when i poured it, but it pretty much disappeared in about a minute. an amber looking beer with an almost sweet taste? hah i'm still not very good at breaking down all the shit i'm tasting..but its pretty good. i would definitely drink it again...might be picking up some more before the season is over.

last, i pretty large bottle of samuel smith's old brewery pale ale. haven't had this stuff, but i tried their oatmeal stout and it was pretty good..so i figured i'd give it a go.

haven't opened the high life yet..but i'm pretty sure it tastes like bad carbonated water.

goddamn im drunk and stoned. had a bunch of dommelsch, not too exclusive dutch beer, tastes just fine. the weed struck me though

Mouth feel is just that really- how it feels in your mouth; carbonation, texture etc. Lagers tend to be very (imo over) carbonated, and so the mouthfeel is very lively. Unfortunately usually to the expense of the taste and the drinkability.

had their "road dog scottish porter" last night. it was pretty damn good. good enough that i'll be sure to try all of their other beers. the only other style they have at the store here is a pale ale though.

the porter was damn good though...pretty dark, but if you held it up to a light, you could see a little dark red/burgundy here and there. even my roommate that normally drinks shit like miller lite said it was really good. definetly check it out if you have it there.

so far i've only had shakespheare stout, and the chocolate stout. both were good, but i like the shakespheare more.. they only carry 2 or 3 other kinds. a pale ale of sorts, a hazelnuet something or other, and i forget if or what the last one is..

Oh man, I think I'm going to to first buy those when I get over there next. I've heard very good things about both beers. Stout/Oatmeal Stout/Porter is probably my beer preference right now, although I haven't tried a lot of each..I've had some well reviewed beers and can't wait to further enthrall myself into this beer "genre".


Actually, hopefully this weekend I can refill my Propeller growler with their London Porter..godamn that shit is good!

Usually when I drink now is the majority non stout, like I mainly pick up the Propeller Extra Special Bitter, but have some stout/porter on hand to mix things up.(So my shit is a lighter shade of black because of the amber coloured ESB, haha no joke! It's tried and tested. lol.)


Edit - I bought a bomber of Propeller ESB and a bomber of their London Porter, finished those off. I also bought a 500ml of Fuller's Porter, haven't tried it or drank it tonight but I'm eager to see what it tastes like.

I have come to the decision that I will never drink lager again. The week before last I drank 6 bottles of Becks and didn't get drunk at all. Now, I've drank one bottle of Bombardier (fantastic ale) and I'm moderately tipsy. If there's one thing this country is the best at, it's producing fucking fantastic ale.

The more variety the better. Usually when I drink now I drink at least 3-4 varieties of beer. It's great to switch things up with flavour/style of beer.

have you tried this yet? they sell it here now, but i've never tried it. i had some of the scarecrow though...it was pretty damn good. just got back from the other coast and bought some rogue brutal bitter, and a bottle of avery brewing co imperial stout. the latter was expensive, but i knew i'd end up buying it eventually. the brutal bitter is pretty good...so far i've liked everything i've tried from rogue.

i guess i'm going to try whatever wytchwood has to offer here. this rogue brutal bitter is damn good! but the avery imperial was a bit much as far as the flavor goes. it was a bottle of the same size as the rogue bombers or whatever. 11.something % abv. ba actually has the wrong abv for this beer. strong stuff, decent flavor, but just not great flavor. they have an imperial oktoberfest..i'll give that one a shot someday soon.

Love that stuff, best vomit ever also! I managed to drink 16 pints of the stuff and basicly died, fucking Excorcist vomit! Hasn't put me off one jot though!

I walked to the nearest liquor store on off block today.

I picked up their last Wychwood Bah Humbug and the 3 bottle/with glass Samuel Smith assortment. I haven't tried anything of what I bought, but I'm really excited in trying it all, especially the Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout. My worry is that I won't be able to find this shit again.
