and there are many sub genres in "rap & hiphop" just like there are in "rock & metal" but we're pretty much rockers around here and nobody cares about rap, so we bunch up all of the stuff we here from them and just consider it "rap" the same way alot of them bunch our music up into one big "rock" category.
you have gantsta rap, hip hop, r&b, old school rap, just plain ol rap, hip pop, freestyle rap, horrorcore, rap rock, poser white boy rap, battle dj stuff, ect...

Soundgarden were awesome - they had so many different ideas. Superunknown is one of the best albums from the early to mid-90s within the grunge scene. My own opinion is that Soundgarden ruled the grunge roost mainly due to their creativity when writing songs. They were certainly the most thought-provoking in terms of music.
