DISTORTION (boss mt-2, digitech metal master, death metal,...)

I want a good ditortion pedal, but i donīt know which one is the best. I thought that it was the mt-2, but i donīt like it very much. Are the Digitech "metal master" or the digitech "death metal" better than the metal zone, or are they a cheat.
And what do you think is better complement to one of this pedals a comprwessor or an equalizer (something like the boss ge-7,or boss compressor).
 Tahnk you

	| I just bought a Metal Zone yesterday and so far I think it's pretty kickass. My friend had one so I got to mess with his before deciding what one to get. I had the same dicision to make, and up at guitar center they had all the digitech pedals sitting out so you could test them, so I messed around with the Metal Master for a little while and hated it. As far as the DigiTech Death Metal, I haven't tried it out or heard it, but another one I liked was the DOD FX86 Death Metal, another one of my friends has it. If you really didn't like the Metal Zone you might want to check it out.

	| well, i would say what young guitarist did in a nicer way, but since hes already said it, whatever. I would say get a better than wasting money on pedals, i like the roland cube 30 for practice. sounds really good for a modeling amp.

	| Heres a good way to get some awesome tone out of a mt-2
 Youll need:
 1 guitar
 1 amp
 2 cords
 1 Boss MT-2
 1 hammer
 1 $2000 Tube amp

 Ok.
First, Plug your guitar into the pedal and the pedal into the amp.

Second, Turn on the knobs until you the worst possible sound out of it.

Third, after hearing the worst possible sound, youll be pretty angry. Start to hit the mt-2 with the hammer. Repeat.

Fourth, after the MT-2 is no longer functioning, get your $2000 tube amp out.

Fifth, Plug your guitar into it and enjoy good tone.

studio recordings don't count..... scooped mid's, thin & buzzy distortion, grainy & muddy gain, ect... can all be fixed with the right amp, mic, cab, mixer, and tons of studio processing.... why do you think dimebag darrel sounds so good? i mean, warheads suck, as does almost every other signature peice of gear he has..... but with all the stuff he has them teamed up with... they don't suck much at all.

	| just get a cheap ass good amp like a marshall valvestate 8100 head and a good cab and you'll have amazing distortion depending on whether u ve got a high gain pickup. I use a 8100 with a 1960 cab and a sd custom/custom to get my sound and its way better than any crappy pedal.

	| this will shut you all up...
Perfect example of studio magic is At The Gates.

They used some sort of Peavey Solid State amp and a Boss HM-2 and MT-2

they get a good tone on their album, then you see them live. Go ahead, download a live performance or something.

then do what cannibal told you to do 12 post ago.

what;s your definition of over processed?
a simple tweaking of a couple knobs on a mixing board and moving a mic even an inch can make a world of difference in your recorded sound.

	| I have the metal zone and donīt like it.
I was wondering if the ProCo Turbo RAT will fit with my JCM 2000. (I ask this because the amp is a tube amp, and will the pedal kill the tubes????)
And if is not, is this pedal fine to have some Deat metal (and clear) distortion???(something like VADER will be perfect)

P.S. I know is better trying with my own amp, but here in my village is only one music shop and it only has one guitar on sale. (and it is an acoustic guitar!!!!!!!)
