New Haunted
Not sure if this has been covered before but i just got a copy of the new Haunted album "rEVOLVEr" and its amazing. Nice to see that Peter Dolving is back, he seems to bring out the best in those guys 
Harks back to the first album in many ways. Awesome in every way

The song 99 is great.
I HATE the first haunted cd cause Dolving's vocals suck... but he seems to be better now.

Same goes for Carnal Forge.
Dew Scented gets special treatment because they covered "Fatal If Swallowed".
(But even most of their stuff).

No don't..like seriously, there was like 1 riff i liked in one little part of 1 song..that's it...its like Nickelback meets Slipknot...there is lots of bad clean vocals...

rEVOLVEr was a lot less death/thrash and more hardcore/heavy metal. I just hope they dont pull a Slayer and release another couple of crap CD's
I own all of their albums, and i'm a huge fan, but this is unnacceptable (sp) Of course the band will do as it will, but i think BassBehemoth summed it up nicely.

Yeah, that must be Burnt To A Shell, the vocalist sounds like Nickleback, and the drums sound like Slipknot, it's appaling.
I reccomend all of The Haunted's other albums, but unless you're a hardcore kid, skip this one.

I agree, the other albums were really good...it's terrible, christ The Haunted guys are probably all sober now too. 
And I now understand their "rEVOLVEr" title..everyone of them must have got shot in the head while some fans listened to the demos....then they evolved into ROTTING SHIT!!!

Hmm not quite the response i was expecting but hey guess we cant all have the same opinions 
On further listens i admit that its not as good as their previous efforts, guess i was just excited to have a new Haunted album. Still, i think its good nonetheless. |

When I say riffs, I mean riffs worth mentioning. Too many new thrash bands concetrate only on speed and not on actual good riffs.

I haven't heard the new album,but I like
Dolving's vocals more than Aro's and
I think The Haunted is their best album.

I still stand by my opinion that this is a good album but i gotta admit that its not as spectacular as i first posted. But surely, where could they have gone after the last 3 albums? Is this a logical progression or a sellout? Personally i hate the term sell out and reckon they have gone for a more "accessable" approach. Theres still some really cool riffs and the vocals (for me) fit perfectly, sure they are not a patch on At The Gates and never will be but i feel its a grower of an album
Will be interesting to see how it pans out live because i have only seen them with Marco and cant wait to see them with the origional and imo the best vocalist, Dolving.
I think it all boils down to the fact that Thomas Lindberg is sorely missed and I would LOVE for him to return for an ATG reunion 
Never gonna happen but o well

As long as it's what they want to do, more power to 'em. I just don't like it. I wouldn't say they "sold out". In all honesty, The Haunted can't really sell out. If they totally changed their style to fit what's hip, they'd lose their metal audience. The only audience they have. There'd be no point to "selling out".

They play metal, and their bald singer, (as he's the only one I've heard), uses hardcore vocals.
Thus, a combination of metal and hardcore. By my definition, which I'm sure many people will disagree with, they're metalcore.
