Yeah, we used to be in it for the shows with big bands, magazines, etc.. now it's just more laid back, we're still on a label but it's all more about having fun. It's way better like this, sure we might never reach anything more then we have now but that's fine. We've played with some pretty big bands and we've released a cd, we've kinda reached our goals, it's not like we're going to dedicate our life to music, that's just not us. (plus there's only a tiny chance you'll make it anyway)
It's about the fun and the beer!! The only ingredients we needed were a bunch of good friends, a free place to practise and a tiny bit of motivation..

Hell yeah. Having a place to pratice is always a bitch. Especialy when your music isn't very "popular" or liked. It gets degraded to "noise."
My old band, we finally moved out of the house and played some shows before we broke up. It was very rewarding, coming from horribleness to playing good shows with music that was purely and always our own. Instead of all those bullshit cover bands out there. (sure we played 1 or 2 covers, but how doensn't who plays music after adding their own changes to it? Especially a one maiden tune *cough* *cough* the trooper)

autumn - my favorite two were reach and ancients. reach..i like the colors (or maybe the lack of colors heh) and it reminds me of an escher work. ancients i think is also the subtle colors and the composition is nice too. good shit. jeremy clarkson always gave me the impression that whales sucked and there wasn't anything to do..making it the best place to test out cars on the road.
broken - you have some badass jungle out there..yea i'm not sure why someone would spray paint those rocks..pretty weird. its all about painting man made shit...but i haven't painted in a long time. and damn! i thought we had big trees in florida...that fucker is HUGE! take pictures of australian snakes, tarantulas and scorpions or whatever else you guys have please. thanks. |

Looks like exactly what the next 10 or so years of my life will be....  But I really wanna dedicate my life to music. I mean....I'm already a freelance string bassist for local orchestras and pretty soon private lesson teacher as well.

Never really bothered posting in the 'chit chat' areas, but here are a couple of myself. Both are pictures taken from various houseparties etc, so don't take them too seriously 
The third one is of me and my twin brother. He plays bass but faster than i can guitar... Weaved the whole 'Victor Wooten' thing into his playing a few years back so now it sounds pretty rad with metal. The guitar in the picture is some LP I stole for the night by the way. Also I'm plugged into the lovely 5150 that's hidden behind me, not the shoddy marshall in the centre of the picture

Haha, it was a '60s themed new years party' but we ignored that completely, half my mates just went in drag. Hah it's just a cigarette, just plays with his fretting hand whilst smoking, similar to legato style on a guitar, then chuck it when it comes to other shite In that picture though I think it's in between stuff as he has a camera or something in the other. Cos of the nature of the party none of the music was serious, so we pretty much made it up as we went along.

That's a song called 'technodrome' from the old fun we found in jamming in the dark to cheesy shit to a constant drum beat, with our head in the clouds courtesy of grass, beer and others

I'd say around 6 years. We all got instruments at the same time 'to make a band' hah... That never really worked though! Little did we realise it'd take this long to learn to play the fuckers. He got a lot of experience from playing bass for a local covers band, doing 'rock' versions of classic songs/other cliché metal and pub pleasers, something I'd advise to anyone who can be arsed to learn and play other people's stuff! Sadly it was never in my interest though, and due to being in different locations we hardly get to jam, but it normally devolves into an epic funk-VS-metal shred off between us both

I'd say around 6 years. We all got instruments at the same time 'to make a band' hah... That never really worked though! Little did we realise it'd take this long to learn to play the fuckers. He got a lot of experience from playing bass for a local covers band, doing 'rock' versions of classic songs/other cliché metal and pub pleasers, something I'd advise to anyone who can be arsed to learn and play other people's stuff! Sadly it was never in my interest though, and due to being in different locations we hardly get to jam, but it normally devolves into an epic funk-VS-metal shred off between us both |

There was a tree in the cemetery I posted pictures of recently that made the papers here because part of it looked like Mary --so they said. I was there once or twice and couldn't see it at all. It looked like a place where the bark was so grown apart that the inside core of the tree was exposed. That was all. Ironically, about a year or 2 ago the tree was toppled by a storm of some sort so they had to take it all the way out.

I would imagine it would be the gender biases. that sounds like that is in play with something like that. A psychology thing i've picked up and it makes sense. Especially the girls and guys who relate themselves often with their gender roless do they find the opposite of that more attractive. If that makes sense.
I'm not going to claim i know all about this subject, but so far it has seemed to make alot of sense.

It can create ugliness too if you're not carefull haha. Believe me i know. I grew my face out for a FULL month and i thought it looked ok. I shaved it for drill then came back and looked athte pictures and i was like what the fuck was i doing! Needless to say it was awful.
Trimmed "neat" facial hair, wins em everytime. My exgirlfriend kinda used to bitch at me because i didn't have facial hair. She used to be obsessed with my facial hair, and probably my old mohawk as well. She liked things rough.

In my humble opinion, 99.9% of all facial hair is fucking gross. There is nothing worse than ass fluff on a man's face, it makes them look like a crusty nerd who hasn't had a shower in a gazillion years who just crawled out of his garage after masturbating for several hours on end. Overgrown beards take that to an entirely new level, I believe it's called "hobo".
Trimmed beards are alright if they are age-appropriate. Well-kept sideburns of reasonable length can elongate a round face (my bf has sideburns, he wouldn't look his age without them), and reasonable goatees on people with longer faces are delicious |
