LB...Yep, that's my short term plan. She's a sweety and today asked me
"What kind of music do you have?"
Well....I for sure knew exactly what to pop out....some Judas Priest and showed her how easy and fun it is to play along with several of their more popular tunes.
She admitted liking Pop music but said she for sure loved the way the guitar matched the songs I played for her and I looked down several times and saw her tapping her foot to the beat.

Yes, I have served mostly surface on the USS G.W. even though I was cleared for subs before I finished nuke school. That is just where the US Navy needed me. I still got Norfolk Va., which I asked for. I was with the G.W. in the afganistan conflict and the beginning of Iraq.
I have worked on more subs then most though; in fact, about every fast attack sub on the east U.S coast. I have not gone to sea with them for 6 mouths though. I have only gone to sea with the USS G.W. for deployments.
My new command, MARMC, likes to strip your warfare designation (SW) if you fail a PFA like I did 2 years ago. CO's rules, and gimp your chest candy. I still got a few things that I need to put on, but I didn't think the amount of medals and ribbons matered here at Metaltabs. I had, and still suffer, a very severe psychological disorder, but I still have a very fruitful, brilliant, and working mind that the Navy nuclear benefited from until less then a year ago. I got the order from NR to force convert and have been working mail from that time My problem is well undercontrol today, but nearly got me into a nuthouse a few years ago. That is enough to not allow me back in control of a nuclear reactor IAW Naval standards. During the beginning I had to take drugs that caused me to gain 30 pounds no matter how I ate or worked out, but ( as I'm finding out now ) would also kill my career in the Navy. I'm way behide the curve now compared to other nukes.
I have been off the drugs for over 2 years now but still live with hundreds of panic like reactions a day. They wake me even when I'm trying to sleep now, but I know what fear is about and how to fuction just about normally. My condition would have ended most Naval careers, but I wanted to feel normal again and the Navy said they would help me, no cost, if I put the work in it. I did and I found out that I will struggle with panic the rest of my life. It will never go completely away, but how I react and think about myself will.
Today I'm still losing the fat from the meds, much slower than I put it on, but I'm 18% BFC @ 215Lb, 72" tall. Not without problems though. I have heart problems now, blood lab problems, and respitory problems from the major added fat I gained before. My body was not made to take it. My personality has, or as others say, changed from who I was before I went out to sea years ago. I don't feel like myself and haven't in years, but every once in a while I still find complete calm and can remember what I am. Many times that scares me too.
Deep down, I really don't care what happens to me anymore. I never wanted to know what I've seen. People say I do it for freedom and the American way, maybe so, but all I know I've done it for Mrs Soulinsane, because she stayed with me even in my darkest times in life. The times I found out I wasn't the super human I thought I was, and for my kids. I'm making sure they can be proud of me.
I have, despite my discomforts, managed to stay retainable by the Navy. All I got to do is enlist in the Navy for another 4 years and convert to something other then Nuclear reactor orerator. That means me disappearing from my family for at least 6 months at a time without being able to tell them what I'm doing.

Souli'--My dad went through trauma that stayed with him from WW2 til he died. I never realized the severity while he was living. You've got a wonderful support system with your family and those kids are just the greatest. I hope things can be semi normal for you all. Hey, maybe you could be a mailman like wally's ole man. He didn't a thing for disability from the Navy, but the VA did. Retirement's approaching fast.

Cool pictures Infinity. I've got that tiger's offspring in a basket of stuffed animals. It's a little white tiger with blue eyes one of the kids from the Home gave me. The new digs look very nice and I love the yard. Your grandparents must be cool since they have the clothesline in the yard. (My dog just broke part of mine. ) Hope it works well for you and them.
