Head and cab suggestions?

Hey guys and girls,

Once again, it's been a while

Anyway, for my 18th (in october), I should be getting this little minx:
http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/guita...odel=EDB605&z=y
Ibanez EDB605

Now my focus is on getting some decent amplification (my Washburn is going on 15-20 years old lol) I think I've decided against a combo so I'm looking for a head and a cab. I know its a bit of general question but do you guys have any suggestions, Im clueless about amps at the moment. I play metal (death/melodic/thrash) and gig a lot so I need reliability, good volume and just an average/good quality stack. Around £300-£800 ideally.

The only thing I've looked at so far are the Peavey heads and they seem nice but Im not sure how they compare with others on the market...

Thanks!

peavey's aren't bad, they do the job at a great price. they're not 'super' but you probably won't notice much of a difference with brands in the medium price range.

how much is that in euro's btw?

Anyone else have any comments to stop me learning what head/cab I dont want the hard way?

Yeah! I'm going down to try it out and my local music store soon, but I'm also trying out the Yamaha RBX 775 (http://www.soundslive.co.uk/moreinfo.asp?ID=716)

Since I found out about the Yamaha, its great price and great reviews, the Ibanez has some competition. So im off to try em both out and see which one plays to my liking..

I had a look at the Ampeg site, there seems to be a lot of categories of heads, Ive no clue which to go for. Theres like Pro Series Heads, Classic Series Heads, B Series Heads and Anniversary Classic Heads

Nice bass man.
I've got a yorkville combo 100watts and I'm content with it for now. But i'm not really a bass/gear head. And you're lookin for a head and a cab, so I guess this post is pointless.
You're probably not gonna get that great a setup with only 600-800 bills man. Unless you look for something used.

Keep in mind his figures were in pounds. We're talking US$1300.
