Carvin tube amps?
http://carvin.com/products/single.p...=MTS3200&CID=GA
I've been thinking about purchasing a very-high quality amplifier head ( does'nt necessarily have to be tube ... just good! ) for about 700 or less. I've been considering either a Crate, Randall, or Marshall AVT 50, but then this one caught my eye. Only thing is ... if I bought it, it would be a totally blind purchase ... I did a search in these forums and I could'nt find anything pertaining to carvin tube amps. So have any of you tried this amp?
any response will be appreciated.

The Carvin or the Crate, the AVT50 won't do you no good, Randalls are quite nice but they're solidstate. You can get a used Blue Voodoo for cheap and then a 1960 cab also cheap. The Carvin is nice and theyre cabs for that series are loaded with celestions. BTW there are some sound clips of the MTS on the site.

the new randall G2 series are sick as fuck dude, they can cover death metal to thrash, to jazz (seriously). its a great amp for the price and you can then get a good cab to go with it.

Carvin makes high quality stuff. That amp looks cool cause you can put all sorts of tubes in it. I havent played it though, so you should rey and find some reviews or something. Or play it if you can.

As far as cabs go, I already have a 4x10 w/ tweeter. So the actual amplification won't be a problem
5150-ish tone, you say? Well, that will kick ass. Anyways, all tube can't go wrong.

Carvin amps don't have good distortion, little gain. Same with thier pickups.

I just saw a local band that had a full carvin tube amp. It seemed to do the job pretty well, and I think it could have done a better job if they didn't mic it.
