I don't know about you guys but I think Unearth is one of the most tallented bands out there. Some of their new shit is hard to play. What's your opinion?

I like'em, the intro to failure is pretty hard to play (for me at least) and I'm told they move a lot on stage.

Unearth are amazing. Fucking great guitarist. Their great live too.

unearth is fuckin awesome, ive only heard the new shit so i cant compare it to their old shit, but most of the songs on The Oncoming Storm just has so much creative shit, and is very hard to play for the most part.

I listened to t"The Stings of Conscience" for a LONG time and didnt bother with their new cd because I had big doubts that they could possible release a better cd... boy was i wrong! The Oncoming Storm is a cd that i think EVERYONE should check out, simply amazing guitar work.

agreed, its good.

but I miss some of the originality that the first cd DID seem to have... great live band, seem them four times now and it was worth going, the show is incredible. the music is tight, good guitarist, though some of their songs seem a bit sterile like in 'one of the many' songs, its good but not legendary, songs like my desire, one step away and stronghold are instant classics

It seems heavier, more energy. Songs like The Great Dividers, Black Hearts Now Reign(My Fav), Failure, and Zombie Autopilot are all awesome songs.

Unearth is definetly one of my favorite bands now, and after seeing them live i will DEFINETLY be seeing them again.

so how long have you been into them?

I guess I've been into them since I previewed 'the strings' before the release, it was fucking killer, blew me away. finally something new and inventive (at that day) and I just listened to it too much, I guess its hard for a new record to do the same for me. but I'm giving it another chance... I haven't listened to it that much yet actually!

Ive been into them for maybe 6 months.

Like i said i just listened to "Strings...." for about 4 of those months. Then i finally got the oncoming storm.

Then i saw them at ozzfest...

the rest is history

Not exactly the best Metalcore band.

they're cool live because like somebody said they do move around onstage...its hardcore kids playing metal. they bring the energy of hardcore and everything else of metal. that said, there's about 2 million bands doing that now (1.5 million of those seem to be from boston...soooo lame going to a show and basically hearing the same songs from different bands every weekend) and its not really that exciting since its been going on for the last 5 years or so. they are pretty solid, again nothing original but stings of conscience was pretty cool. i'll find out if somebody i know has the new one.

You guys act like thier's thousands of Unearth clones, or that infact unearth is just following a trend. If this is so please tell me some bands like Unearth, this shit kicks ass.

Unearth, absolutely incredible.. They're the first hardcore band that I actually can stand. Absolutely shocking coming from a gore/death/grind fan.

nah, theres prolly just a lot of metalcore there.

metalcore isn't hardcore kids playing metal, its just hardcore that has big metal riffage as influence. Unearth has its own melodic style, though there are some bands that come close, Unearth is the only one that combine mosh and melodic stuff together like that. I prefer the mosh metalcore like Arkangel, XMaroonX, XDeadlockX, Congress, Heaven Shall Burn and Caliban.

Thats was i thought.

I hate it when people label Unearth as Metalcore...

Like you said they mix elements from various types of music.

I was going to go to ozfest but I missed out I think Zombie Autopilot is thier best song. My cousin hates hardcore with a passion and loves that song. Those Guys are freakin great.

I have seen Unearth live twice, and both times I was utterly blown away. I've been meaning to pick up one of there discs, but now I got gifts to buy cuz there's so many b-days in September!!
