Peavey 5150 mkI / II footswitches

Hey

I'm in the market for an amp head for live purposes and I'm thinking Peavey 5150 / 5150 II

I've had live experience with a 5150 mkII, and I've tried out the mkI (and an Engl Fireball, sounds cool, but the effects loop isn't switchable and there is no crunch option for the clean channel...), but my question is...

Can someone remind me what the footswitch controls on the 5150 mkI footswitch?

Is it just Channel and Effect loop isn't it? I can't turn the crunch switch on or off with the mkI footswitch can I?

If this is so, I may have to go with a 5150 II. Everyone says the mkI sounds better, and I don't play clean stuff, I just find it useful for starting and stopping cleanly.

cheers

Mine has Channel an "Reverb" which switched the effects loop on and off.

Might not be the origanal footswitch.

Sounds like it might be the Peavey Bandit footswitch. It's cool that it works though, my Peavey Prowler footswitch wouldn't work with my mate's 5150 before. (Although the 'lead boost' switch let me change channels on the Engl Fireball...).

Basically, if you use the rhythm channel with the Crunch switch in the on postition, you have to use your volume pot on your axe to silence (and unsilence) yourself, as opposed to just jumping on the footswitch?

Basically, if I'm happy to do this then I can save myself £120 by buying a mkI instead of a mkII. (I don't need the additional EQ or the cleaner clean)

Whats your opinion?

cheers

I have killswitches on all my guitars so when im not played i just flip the switch on. But turning the volume knob down works fine.
