I agree with Transient - that riff crushes all and is integral to precisely 52.4% of the universes visible mass. The other 47.6% of the universes visible mass is comprised of the rest of the song. Liege Of Inveracity is the heaviest song ever recorded. If you haven't heard it yet, go listen to it and your education begins thus.
Also, 25.65% of dark matter is represented by the entire Meshuggah back catalogue.

If john says so, should I really spend $15 on the cd?

yes, its good, i got it as a part of the mighty "2 from the vault" series earlier this year
as for the "HEAVIEST FOOKIN SONG IN THE UNIVERSE" it would have to be some shitty Mortician song or something like that, but this thread is still stupid

The heaviest song ever IS a Suffocation song, but I don't think it's "Liege of Inveracity." I think it's "Habitual Infamy" from the same album. Honorable mention goes to Exhorder, they weren't the greatest thrash band around, but I'll be damned it they weren't the fucking heaviest. It does seem a bit pointless, though, some of the lighter metal (Watchtower!!!) is just as good or better than the heaviest stuff... ...Especially when you take into consideration how much bands like Pig Destroyer, Six Feet Under, and Mortician choke on the smegma they have sucked off cocks belonging to the homeless.

Hey n00b, notice the fucking ROLLING OF THE EYES. Moron, I listen to alot of music that people might not like. I don't give a shit what you think of it. But if you actually took the time to read it a couple of times, and maybe if you posted here more often, you'd realize that most every question about a band, and opinon, he usually says something about Burzum. It was a JOKE. Just like your life.
And the point in me being a prick THERE? For you being a moron. Congrats, mate, you get the Maddox award.

Black Sabbath-Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (You know the riff, that one where Iommi and Butler sync up about half-way through the song)
Megadeth-Holy Wars... The Punishment Due (After the Spanish style solo)

So far, my favorite heavy song is the last 4-5 seconds of Spawn of Possession's Church of Deviance.

Liege of Inveracity is definitely up there. So is Funeral Inception.
BUT.. it can only be one. Ruptured in Purulence (Carcass). End of story.

Dissection: Do you not like black metal at all? or is it just the bands that most other people don't like that you flame?
Burzum \m/
Can someone explain what they mean by the heaviest?

I don't think we'll ever come to an agreement between all of us, but I think Nihilist can agree with me in saying Deeds Of Flesh's "Path of the Weakening" is up there.
SHS: No, I actually enjoy some Burzum. But the vocals are laughable.
Darkthrone is one of my favorite bands, too, so I can't hate ALL black metal. I just don't like the bands that try to be "grim" for the sake of being grim. I just find corpse-paint to be something that just needs to die out. But this isn't the thread to be discussing this.

Path of the Weakening, ah! Good one. Trading Pieces, and Inbreeding the Anthropophagi (the tracks, not the albums) are monstrously heavy too.
Also: don't go into a Burzum discussion guys, we all know where it'll head. Keep it on the topic at hand.

Oh. You DON'T FUCKING SAY?
"Heaviest" does not equal "blackest". Common sense plays a major role here. Think, boy, think. Heaviest song ever. Try again.

Yeah, you did, but who gives a damn?
I actually haven't heard any pre "path" albums from DoF. I don't download music, and I don't like asking my drummer to download much. He has already given me at least 90% of the 12 gigs of shit that I have.
But back to the topic at hand...
Is this thread really going anywhere?

I own Path, and have "mark of the legion" here on my computer.
3d, have you heard Meshuggah's newest ep? the 20 some minutes 'opus?' Its quite good. Hmm. And I had pegged them as nothing more than a mediocre metal band.

Stones of Sorrow....??! by Nile?! Is that the name of it? Well it like the way the dbass pedal is like, not fast, and just thick and heavy.

I like Trading Pieces more than Mark Of The Legion. Also, Disgorge's Consuming The Forsaken deserves a mention in the heaviosity stakes, i reckon.

I concur, sir. Trading Pieces blows Mark of the Legion out of the water, in the heaviness category. Reduced to Ashes is overall, a more polished effort.

What about the intro to Big God/Raped souls by Fear Factory? No, not the one from Soul Of A New Machine, the one from Concrete. Those drums are crushing beyond belief.

Yeah, it's indescribably brutal. That thin reedy 80's guitar sound. Crushes you into your seat. Idiot.
This topic fellates old runny manwhores. Define 'heavy'.

Oh, and Tranny? You totally forgot Immolation's "The Devil I know." The ending riff may not be heavy, but it is EVIL.

It was also rather counterproductive to point out your obsession with Burzum at a point when you didn't say it because it will invariably bring out a CHRISTIAN Vikernes related discussion. I say let it end here.

I'm not mad, dude. I wasn't mad when I posted what I said earlier. I didn't clarify it clearly, I suppose, what I meant was that it was counterproductive for him to have mentioned your obsession with Burzum when it is your obsession with that awful racket that annoys him. I'm not mad at either you or him. How could I be mad at two people who I will never meet arguing on a forum? I was just observing, throwing out my two cents, so to speak.

Apparently, I also didn't read what I had written very well, you can't clearly clarify something anymore than you hungry eat something. I suppose I could have just edited it, but it's been up too long for me to do that.

sit the fuck down. Dimmu Borgir could never produce anything nearly as heavy as the shit everyone else is talking about. good god they suck.
i wouldnt call it the heaviest, but there is an insane breakdown in the song Elegy by As I Lay Dying, at about 2 minutes in. worth your time if you want to download it.

I just thought of the first thing that came to my mind. I like my music heavy, but not too heavy. In my opinion the heaviest song may suck in my opinion. Because in any composition of music in any genre, even black metal (Esspecially black metal) there should be a soft melody or something aded to it. I don't believe it has to be REALLY soft like in Progencies (Spelling) of the Great Apocolypse at that one part (yOu'd know what I'm talking about if you heard the song.)
I can't really voice my opinion on what the heaviest song is because I have not heard alot of the heaviest music yet. [SARCASM] I'm too busy slappin' my beyotches and listenin to KORN, yo![/SARCASM].

Dimmu will never be the hardest anything, unless it pertains to their lovers cocks.
Cannibal Corpse a la "Hammer Smashed Face" is my vote at the moment.

If you can't really voice your opinion on what the heaviest song is (because you haven't heard a lot of the heaviest music yet), then it's useless to bother posting a reply in a thread entitled "What's The Heaviest Song Ever? Part 2". Just think about it for a second, let it sink in. It will suddenly become obvious to you why some people snapped at you. I'm not trying to be a dick, just pointing out something you don't seem to see.

uhh... in all honesty i found that boring. to me it dosnt touch the sadistik song i uhh 'voted' for before. of course just saying my opinion
BUT if your into those pig vocalled bands, i REALLY suggest you check out Artery Eruption if you already havnt. i dont have the site on me, but there are 2 mp3's at the site. if you want i could also send you a song through msn or yahoo or whatev.
it sounds like that devourment song there, but faster and just more hard production, it just obliterates. still not as good as sadistik but

Devourment - Molesting The Decapitated is
indeed one of the heaviest songs.
Also I think Halo's 20.000 Tonnes of Machinery
To Smash Matter is very heavy(besides it has the
heaviest title ) as are all of their "songs".

So your saying that the reason people hate me is because of the way I think?
Gee, this is a nice forum. I ought to just go back to taborama right now. At least the people there accept some of my musical tastes.

You don't seem to get it. Read what I said. Read it twice, read it three times if you have to. You said that you wouldn't know what the heaviest song is because you're not into heaviness.
Let me say this one more time, hopefully you'll get it-
If you DON'T know what the heaviest song is (and by your own admission you don't) because you are not knowledgable in that department (again, by your own admission you are not), then DON'T reply to a thread that's SPECIFICALLY asking the question "Whats The Heaviest Song Ever?"
Let me try showing you a different example so you can see what I mean.
Let's say I start a thread asking people "What is the Most Dangerous Snake on the Face of the Planet?" Obviously I would never start such a thread on this board, but let's assume I did. Now, let's assume you answer, "THE RATTLESNAKE". I will immediately yell at you. First of all, there are over 30 different rattlesnakes. Secondly, many of them are only mildy dangerous (non life-threatening), and those that ARE very dangerous don't even come close to other dangerous snakes, like the Inland Taipan (for toxicity) or the Saw-Scaled Viper (for number of deaths). Clearly you could see why you don't have any business responding to the topic asking that specific question when you have no knowledge on the topic.
This is different if somebody is having a general conversation about a band or a genre. Then you could chime in, ask question, state that you don't know much about it. People could fill you in, you could give your opinion. That's completely different, and by all means, don't feel discouraged from participating in general conversations whose topics you are not particularly knowledgable about. This was a SPECIFIC question, a question whose answer you had no idea (not even close), but you still answered. That's what's wrong. I'm pretty sure you get it now.
If you still don't know what I mean then you should go back to taborama or whatever it was you said. Seriously, if you still can't understand that simple concept then we really don't want you here.

I like you.
[Lesson]
The Inland Taipan is also called the Fierce Snake. It lives in a select part of central Australia and has enough neurotoxin in one jab to kill 120 metaltabbers, which might not be a bad idea. Surprisingly, it isn't very fierce. Whoever named it was a tit. Some watersnakes are thought to be more poisonous.
[/Lesson]
Snakes are fun.

Seriously, if you still can't understand that simple concept then we really don't want you here.

hear hear.
NMB, look if your going to introduce yourself with two n00b threads, give yourself a stupid name, post a bunch of shit about how you dont know stuff, what do you expect in reply other than us pointing out angrily, how you continue to trip over your guide dog and miss things ray charles could have seen.
and yes, crawl back to taborama and never show your face around here again, n00b.

maybe if you had politely stated that u werent qualified to give your opinion on the heaviest song EVER, and then simply suggested a heavy song / riff, that would be different. like, even though im in no way good enough to say what song is heaviest, i still have some good opinions. i, however, and not a jackass about it.

Snakes are fun.

Yeah, you're right. That's why I refer to it as the Inland Taipan (which really is only it's secondary common name, Fierce Snake is apparently quite more popular), because obviously it's not very aggressive. Female King Cobras guarding their nests, now that's aggressive! Oddly enough, also the only snakes to construct nests. I love snakes. Please refrain from the 3rd grade phallic references, I've heard them all before and I'm sure most were better than whatever you guys would come up with.
Personally, the snake I'd least like to ever come into contact with would be a Black Mamba, large, super-toxic, aggressive, very fast. There are certainly more dangerous snakes, but none are more scary if you ask me. Or perhaps Dispholidus typus, the most venomous colubrid. It's not all that aggressive, but if you get bitten, that's sheer torture. First your blood starts to coagulate. You start a fever. Medics pump you full of anti-coagulants to prevent stroke, fever goes away, you seem to have recovered. Major relapse, fever comes back, the venom now starts to show anti-coagulant properties (which are aggravated by anti-coagulants given by medics). Profuse internal bleeding, blood coming from all orifices, even the eyes. Then you die. Doesn't sound like fun to me! If I had to die from a snakebite, I'd prefer Naja naja, which from all accounts would be a rather pleasant death, insomuch as a death could be pleasant.
