I need help choosing some things.

My birthday is coming up soon and I was thinking about getting a new guitar
either another B.C. Rich (I have a Warlock) perhaps a Mockingbird or the Ibanez Black Pearl. What I am looking for is a guitar that would be able to handle low tunning (B,Bb,A ect.) and give a really heavy sound.
I have a 50 watt Marshal amp and I was thinking should I stay with my Marshal or get a Peavy 5150 or just get the Digitech Metal Master pedal and run it through my Marshal?

So what do you guys think I should do?

So you can get a new guitar and a new amp or just one or the other?
What Warlock do you have now?
How much money do you have to spend?

I'll second that. If you have the chance to get a 5150 instead, id go with the 5150.

baritone man, anything lower than like C standard will start to sound shitty even if you get thicker strings..
baritones come tuned in B standard so they should handle drop A tunings really well... or maybe a seven string might suit you if it isnt to akward, it's like a baritone with an extra high e.

I can get both a new guitar and amp/or pedal. Is the Peavey 5150 any good? Like have any of you played with it cause I don't know what it sounds like. Hows the distortion?

I have an NJ Warlock w/Widow Headstock with Floyed Rose tremello bar on it. I usually keep it in Eb. Sometimes I tune it to D/Drop C/ and C#. I don't know about baritones. Look at Cannibal Corpse,Exhumed,Gorgasm. They play in B and don't use baritones. I want the tunning to be in B but the playibility to be like I am playing in E. With easy to bend strings. So what guitar would be best for that and what size strings should I get?

umm... cannibal plays alot on 7 strings & custom guitars they don't really tune down much....

exhumed just straight up has a horrible sound to them.... bad tone.

i still suggest a baritone... they have slightly longer necks & different pickups. so they're ment for that...

for the amp... i don't think the 5150 would be a bad head at all for what you want... but there are much better out there, it just depend on your style.

Exhumed's tone on Atonomy is Destiny is good though, probably because the production is complete shit.

their tone really is horrid, i've seen em twice now.... one guy has a rack based around an ada mp-1 and the other guy has a 5150 II....
5150 II's and ada mp-1's are great... but exhumed isnt. :P

OK perhaps I did'nt explain this. I play Goregrind. What settings should I use for the 5150. And what would be the best guitar for this genre an Ibanez or B.C. Rich.

Oh and the reason why Exhumed sounds the way they do is because they run the Messa Boogie and 5150 amps both miked into one cabinet.

um... in the studio??? cuz i just went over their rigs... a rack with an ada mp-1 preamp and a mosvalve/tubeworks poweramp and the other guy has a 5150 II.... into separate cabs. that's how it was both times they came here in like the past year.... once with cannibal corpse and then later with cephalic carnage....
those were their rigs both times and they're sound was shitty both times as well.

I was thinking of going for Ibanez Black Pearl or the RG3120
For the B.C. Rich I was thinking of a Platinum Pro Mockingbird.

Oh and I am not getting a new amp cause I just found two amazing settings that sounds like the Slaughtercult/Anatomy is Destiny tone and the Impaled/Gore Metal tone.

1.)Gain:10 Bass:10 Mid:0 Treble:10-Gore Metal/Impaled tone

2.)Gain:10 Bass:10 Mid:5 Treble:10-Slaughtercult/AID tone

NO I was talking about in the studio.

Id still say exhumed are Death metal

i mean they have all the elements of it

only because the lyrics do some people consider them gore metal, gore grind, or gorecore, but really they are the same as most other death metal bands lyrics just 100 times better

they are more death metal because of the music. they play reek/symphonies style carcass death metal, so they are death metal. oh, and naming your solos rules.

They have alot of funny plays on words and they are very well written, i mean compare there lyrics to say some Pierced from within type suffocation lyrics. its pretty clear which are better.

umm its clear that suffocations are better dude. hella abstract, they dont actually talk about the gore, nor do i think they write lyrics straight from a thesaurus, like exhumed does.

alirght before we come to conclusions you must realize i am a big suffo fan
but i mean lyrics like this just dont do much for me

"I cannot control my urges.
Now I must take my revenge.
I slice at you.
You begin to die."

however i do enjoy exhumed lyrics like these

"From deep in the vault comes the sound of flesh cleaving, Limbs are sawed off
as mourners are bereaving, Sarcophagi splattered with offal and bile, Tripe
drips down the walls of this crypt now defiled.."

have you ever opened and exhumed booklet? and see how much lyrics they actually have?

yeah im not saying suffo have bad lyrics just at times they are dumb

i hardly found exhumed's lyrics to be better than suffocations in that example.... maybe you're not artsy or you just don't get it.

exhumed's lyrics are just like a play on words about murder and theres only one way you can take it. it's just made up stuff to be gory and brutal...
where as suffocation's lyrics that you posted could have more meanings than one. if you have a poetic brain that is...
you just have to think outside of the "death-metal" world.
i'm not a huge fan of either.... so my opinion may or may not be valid to you, but i'm just posting from what i read...

i dunno dude. depth of depravity could have like 50 different meanings. so could peirced from within. i also like suffos music better than exhumed because its so much more technical and theres so much thought put into their material.

I am not really a Suffocation fan. Never have been. Exhumed is my all time favourite band. Not just gore band but band all around. I like their lyrics. The music off Anatomy is Destiny is very technical indeed. But sometimes technical stuff does'nt always mean it's better. Exhumed may not be superb guitarist but they write some very catchy things. I like that better than insany fast stuff. I can always memorize Exhumed lyrics and riffs and whisle them walking to school. But try whisling a Cannibal Corpse song or Suffocation song.LOL I think the whole metal scene is becomeing too much of a competition. Music is supposed to be about having fun and stuff not to see who can play the fastest blast beats or see how many solos they can get on an album.

But I think this is getting a little shall we say...hmm...OFF TOPIC!!!!
