Question I dont get it

Today I went to guitar center and I brought my BC Rich NJ Warlock. I tried out a marshall tsl 2000 and it sounded horrible. It had bad sounding gain and it nwas very muddy. The pickup I was using was some kind of seymour duncan. Was it the guitar? And will a Jackson RR3 with EMGs sound better? Or is the amp itself muddy?

maybe.... but i doubt it... maybe it was your tweaking technique... i hear people say an amp sucks all the time because it doesnt react to the settings they use on their personal amps in the same way... some amps have lots of midrange and others have hardly any, some amps have to much high end, others not enough, ect.... so a mesa recto with certain settings will sound completely different from a tsl100 on the same settings...
i personally love jcm2000's... some of my favirivte marshall heads.

I think it was the fact that I had the mids on 10 ,bass on 12,treb on 8, and I wasnt playing loud.

i tryed a marshall jcm 2000 tsl 602 (long ass name) and it didnt seem to have much volume, at all, infact i had it half way up and it was just loud enough, also it didnt seem to be very crunchy. but i could have had the settings off, theres a shit load of knobs on that fucker.
