Five Pillars of Black Metal

Ok, my bandmates and I have been trying to figure out what the five pillars of old school black metal. Here are the one's I think I have right:

Celtic Frost-To Mega Therion
Venom-Black Metal
Bathory-Under The Sign of the Black Mark

Another I've heard mentioned is Melissa from Mercyful Fate.

Can anybody help me on these?

I think it is:
Bathory - Bathory (or any other release from old Bathory (before viking themed music))
Hellhammer - Satanic Rites
Venom - Black Metal
Mercyful Fate - Don't Break the Oath (or Melissa)
Death SS - Evil Metal

Maybe KAT's 666, Sodom's In the Sign of Evil, Celtic Frost's Morbid Tales and Bulldozer's The Day of Wrath could also be mentioned.

I hate Emperor with a passion. They bore the shit out of me.

Except for "Curse you all Men." Great fucking song!

Edit: Sorry, I missed the OLD SCHOOL part of it. Scratch my first suggestion, and Demon's.

That's what I thought. So that brings it to:

Celtic Frost-To Mega Therion
Mercyful Fate-Melissa
Venom-Black Metal
Bathory-Under the Sign of the Black Mark

Hmmm. For the fifth one I'm thinking myabe Hellhammer, but I'm not sure since Celtic Frost is already there. Maybe though. Any other ideas?

The topic was about old-school bm (which I consider as the creators of black metal in early/mid 80's, bathory, mercyful fate etc.), not any Emperor or Darkthrone belong to there. Darkthrone do influented much to the born of grim and very dark Black Metal, but this happened on 90's in the boom of 2nd wave of BM.

Take Death SS to there, they existed before Venom and even then they made Black Metal.

Too be honest I don't listen to much black metal now-a-days but surely Emperor's Prometheus has got to be 1. or 2. It's one the the greatest albums ever released, I listen to it everyday!

I think they're talking about the 'pillars' that the first wave of black metal used as it's influence. Emperor are/were members of the second wave, I believe.

PS: they're (Emperor) the only BM band that I will listen to.

You may like it, but that does not make it a pillar of the genre. Expecially since Prometheus was released in 1999 or 2000. I'm talking about old-school black metal. Emperor is alright, but not one of the first wave.

Mayhem maybe, but I'm still thinking of something more influential than actual "black metal".
