hi guys i wanna get an amp but i know nothing about the damn things was thinking of getting a laney or some form of tube amp but i can only spend $400 (aus) any help would be nice

can you be more specific? i mean... what styles you play.... how loud do you need? how big do you want? ect...

bummer i been looking on ebay but most the cheapest amps are from the UK and theres no way im paying shit loads for shipping. i know a few friends who picked up a few peavey5150 really cheap but that was one off.

well, $400 u.s. wont get much, non the less $400 aus. you're probably looking at a s.s. combo bro... i hear you roos get ass raped on american amps like mesa.... i feel bad for you guys....
i feel even sorrier for the idiotic euro dudes that bitch about mesa being so expensive over there, yet better amps like engl and framus go for way cheaper over there anyways ....

forgive my blondeness but wtf? is an ss.combo i really need an amp since i jam with my mate and u cant even hear the guitar the amp is so shit (its an old GEM bass amp from the 80's haha)

s.s. = solid state...
combo = preamp,poweramp, and speaker(s) all in one housing....
