Looking for a new guitar
well i need a new guitar, my old yamaha just doesnt seem to be cutting it latly, so iv been reaserching a bunch of differnt guitars the last couple weeks and have come up with: Ibanez RG series(RG2550, RG1520gk), esp ltd 1000 series (m-1000 and mh-1000), and schecter c1 classic. iv tryed out all of these except for the ltd but i think id like some more to try out before i make my decision.
the only requirments i have are: 24 frets, good sustain (neck-thru i guess) and im leaning away from floyd rose trems.
so could you guys post some other guitars kind of like these? im also willing to look into custom stuff if the prices are reasonable (over $1200 is gona be pushing it a little) and before you all start saying shit like well you could get a PRS off ebay for $200... ebay is out of the question... sorry but im not ready to get into that shit yet...

$1200 is pushing it. Ok. You can get a custom Ran for that much maybe a lil more but it would be worth it.

Holy crap 1200? well If i were you id get a RR5 or RR1, not 24 frets though. Umm the shecter isnt bad, the action is bad though, ESP's are really nice, but if i were you id get a gibson Smart Wood LES PAUl, it has the best action you barely have to touch the string and the sustain is sooooo good.

Its good that you found a new axe.
But I don't like vipers that much. I would've gone with a Jackson soloist if I had that kind of money. Cheers though.

what do you have against floyds? the edge pro on the prestige RGs is *extremely* reliable. my edge original on my rg 570 is very stable, and the edge pro is better.
rgs are fantastic guitars.. i always recommend them.

i dont like the feel of floyde rose trems, dont even use the whammy bar (i have a digitech whammy for that) and sustain isnt as good with floyds (so i hear) oh yeah and their hard to put in tune, you cant change the tunings quickly, and on the ibanez that stupid metal thing on the 1st fret realy pisses me off.
anyways i just dont even like ibanez, i tryed the rg2550, rg1570, and the rgt42fm and they felt just kind of cheap and didnt feel good in my hands, realy hard to play (imo of coarse)
and about the jackson slsmg, its $900 + $200 for emg 81/85 set wich makes it $1100, the esp already comes with good pups (81/81) and costs $1200. so its basicly the same price. (note: i now swear by ESP guitars and will defend them at all costs)
while im at it ill go ahead and talk crap about some more guitars.... schecter....my god these guitars suck so bad! they have all these features, but thier as tacky as shit and just feel horrrible. im serious, i picked up a c1 classic thinking id love it.... damn was i wrong. it feels like it was broken in half ten times and glued back together. im sorry to offend anyone who has one of these, but my god they suck.
out of all my searching (i tryed alot of guitars) the only two i like was the slsmg and the viper. well the gibson sg was ok, but not nearly as good as the viper. i think those guitars have ruined me, i cant even play my pacifica anymore with out throughing down in disgust.
note: sorry about that long ass post, dont bother reading it...

Floyds are pretty good if you know how to use them. If your like me, then you would use the whammy bar a lot. You must be slightly retarded if you think tuning a floyd is hard... And that metal thing on the first fret... your refering to the locking nut?!
Im not a huge fan of Ibanez either but they do make some great guitars.
EMGs...
You seem to be quite ignorant. Schecter makes some good guitars. Its all a matter of opinion, yes, but they do not suck. You may not like them but I feel as though you really dont know what your talking about.
It may be just be but I like cheaper guitars. Ive played super nice, expensive guitars but Ive always went straight back to my washburn.

The only bad thing about Floyd Rose Trems is getting them in tune. After the strings have time to stretch, and you get it in tune, then it stays in tune and doesn't get out of tune more than about a 6th of a step for me. They are very reliable.
But I don't use a whammy bar anyway. Any bends I do with my right hand are just pressing the heel against the bottom, and the occasional pulling up of the trem. Can't explain it real well.
And yes, Mctriple, Rgs are all around one of the best models out there (the higher ends; the 370 and up).

yes, it does take longer BUT it stays in tune much longer. Id rather take a few minutes longer tuning a floyd and having it stay in tune for about a month than a non-floyd and having to retune it a lot...

Get the Schecter! To me, they feel the best, play the fastest, and have a freakin lot of sustain. The woods they use have so much to do with the guitars tone, and they use nice, heavy, strong wood and they sound AWESOME. I have A Schecter 006 Elite and I love it to DEATH! The C1 comes with a Jb and a '59 im pretty sure. I heard putting EMG's in one will make it sound INSANE. I want to get the ZW set and put it in mine, but I dont have enough $...
I am not just trying to boast about my guitar or anything, but compared to everything I have played IMO, Schecters are the best guitars for any style. I also support the ESP but I have never played one yet so I dont know how great they are, I just know a lot of my Fav. band use them. And on a Final Note, I hate Ibanez's, so no to them...!

Sorry, i forgot to add this but you should also check out the ESP LTD F-400, its gonna be my next guitar!
And about ESP and Schecter being the same company, I think it is cool, because they are 2 completely different types of guitars (almost) and they are marketed, built, and everything else, different and seperately. That just means more money for the owner!! But since I have never played an ESP, now that I know they are the same company, I hope that ESP play just has fine as my Schecter!
