As far as guitar tone goes, I know Kerry tends to boost his mids on his EQ as opposed to scooping them. Marshall amps also work well.

Marshall amp (not sure which one) and EMG pickups. Their tone is not to difficult to duplicate so it shouldnt be to hard to get their tone.
