My bass rigs owns you... it really does ;)
haha yeh, little joke here, I inserted my engl guitar preamp in the flightcase of my h&k bassbase 400, for a neat tube distortion in the fx loop
it works like a charm! ofcourse its gonna go out again, but I actually like this change since I never use the rack tuner anyways
check out the pic and see for yourself! (and ofcourse the posh blue light )
man, I need a blue neon tube for that Rivera I'm gonna buy this week

on another hand, I didn't get the H&K Access, it sounded great and all but I was just missing the true tube sound.
might have been the tubes in it or something, but somehow it just sounded just as processed as a triaxis, jmp-1, ada, you name it, I really have an extra ear for that kinda crap, though it kinda sucks... that Access was the most versatile preamp I ever played, if you're looking for a great preamp with a lot of versatility then its the way to go.
I've now gotten a fucking Rivera kick, damn those things have balls, I played a Rivera TRB-1 Super Lead rackmount which is 2x60w el34's, this one had groove tubes and sovtek preamp tubes, it was tone heaven for me. its a two channel amp, one is clean (really smushy and warm sounding) and the other is ''crunch'', which should actually be named differently since you can get a lot out of the preamp from channel 2, even shred like distortion, with loaaads of gain.
I think I want to try it with a procto Rat aaanyhows, I've read some reviews saying its the ultimate tweakers amp, and its true, everything I turned on the thing just adjusted the rest too, the knobs don't work independently at all, so thats kinda weird... but then again theres a lot of options on the eq, it even has its own eq system in the channel 2 preamp.
I know the guy that has it, he works at a big guitar store in Utrecht and he has a friend that is selling his, for a good offer that is, since Rivera ain't peanuts
I wasn't familiar with the amp, but heres a link to its specs and it has some pics too, just look at all those knobs *gets twitchy*
http://www.rivera.com/prod_tbrseries.htm
If I buy it its prolly gonna cost me an arm and a leg, which would make playing a pain in the rear end, but hell, my tone is gonna ROCK!!!

i can't beleive you wont take the access... oh well... to each his own....
rivera shit rocks my socks.... i was going to go for one of those rivera rack head unit thingys.... but the one i was looking at getting(used) wasnt midi.... so i had to pass.
ever played a knuckle head? omg... i played one through an orange 4x12 with v30's aby'd with a cranked 50w marshall jmp head through a randall 2x15 guitar cab..... huge tone.......
but yeh, definatly mesa-like in the "tweak machine department".... when you trun the highs down you arent just cutting certain frequencies like with alot of heads... you really have to search for the sweetness.

you have no idea....
it's about as tall and wide as an 8x10, but about twice as deep. and weighs more....
it has two 15's on the face, and there is a port in the middle that has one on top facing down and one on the bottom facing up......
genious design really. really makes it sound massive.
that's why i'm selling it, it's huge and i'm mostly a guitarist...
acoustic control made some of the most sought after vintage bass and PA gear.... i've never seen another cab like it... so i can get a pretty penny for it.
don't get me wrong, it's one of the best and unique sounding bass cabs i've ever played through.... not to mention the hhhuuuuggeee low end.....
ever felt the bass hump your face?

yeah, I played the kr55 knucklehead, good shit... most rivera's don't carry midi if I'm not mistaken, BUT, I'm pretty sure none of their rack heads had midi, since they stopped producing the TBR range ages ago. (thats why they're sought after and expensive... but believe me, they're worth every penny, I think they where above 3 grand new though )
got any pics of that cab btw? biggest I've ever seen was an 18''x2 (rare Glockenklang gigantor) and the standard 8x10 ampeg's.... and yeah, I've fellt bass humping my face
