Randy Rhoads V
My next guitar will be a Jackson V, Either a Mustaine or a Rhoads. I know which of Mustaine's I would get, but which model Rhoads guitars are the best? I'm willing to spend around a grand here. I don't want a crappy one, but not a real expensive one either.

A grand!!! You won't get a mustaine for that much, used or new, unless the person selling is very generous. They aren't in make any more. Quite a rare guitar nowadays. I'm not very familiar with the Rhoades guitars but I say you just go all out and buy a 2000-3000$ guitar. It will last you a lifetime. I saw a very nice RR the other day, snakeskin paint, skull knobs. It wasn't tacky, surprisingly. It was 2600$ canadian.

i think by mustaine he meant the King V, i have an rr3, good guitar, but it all depends what ur lookingo for man, the rrs dont have 24 frets which is a big factor for some people, ohh and it nose dives so you gotta watch how you position urself.

I went to guitar center today and i played the Randy Rhoads model, and It was like a fucking dream, i built a RR and its also a dream, but the neckthru versions play better, but i would get the ESP model RR it Seems like it would sound better, and i think cheaper, im getting one for xmas.
EDIT: The ESP versions have 24frets and only 1 pick up, which is a EMG 81.\
I decided im gonna be playing 24fret guitars for most of my life, unless its a gibson or PRS custom shop made

Why does everyone like ran guitars so much? Shamray can do more stuff and charges about the same as ran.

Shamray cost more, And their not as friendly when it comes to special stuff (Like having a Kahler) And a quick look in the gallery, shows me that the guitars look like crap. It all comes down to personal Preference.

Yeah, the King V or the Y2KV. I was also thinking the KV Pro that goes for about 1200 US. My ideal guitar would be the Y2KV if I could get it at a generous enough price, but I really doubt it. You guys haven't really answered my queston about the Rhoads though, but good discussion anyways.

yeah i dont like ur chances of finding a Y2KV and if u do the price would be huge, the KV PRO? i dont think iv heard of that one, anyway the best Rhoads would have to be the RR1 but i havent tried the V so its between those 2, the RR1 is the orginal obviously and has a floating bridge and a better look than the V IMO, the V has a fixed bridge, u can probably buy a 2nd hand rr1 for less than a grand, new there about 1200 - 1400? da know about V
oh and iv just seen a rr1 with a fixed bridge too

Yeah but to get a Jackson custom guitar it would cost much much more than a ran which is just as good. Just ask Soulinsane.

Yeah, so take a RAN. For a grand, you can have a guitar that makes you stain your sheets at night, while other custom brands would charge at least 3 times as much.
