finland - czech republic was the best game though, hell loads of goals too!
I agree though, after we made 1-0 in the first minute everything just settled down. no real match anymore, it was just waiting out for the next goal, lol

he is, though he didn't play a bad match, he worked for the team, assisted in the second goal (cool action btw) and gave quite some good passes.
he missed one hell of a chance though, which kinda showed he's not back into his old shape yet!
I'm pretty sure if he gets to play on wednesday he'll score at least one goal. I've got a bet on that, so he has too I'm sure he'll get his shape back in a while, also, I've still got my hopes up for Davids, if he's in AC Milan, he's back in Oranje.
I allways liked the guy, he's a real captain, which no-one in the team is at the moment. it's all youngsters in the midfield, I'de like Davids over there.

What's this? Davids at AC Milan?
Has this happened, or are you saying this will happen, or is it just speculation?

they're discussing it is what I heard. they want him back, he allready played there for a while before he went to Juve (and more recently to barca and internationale)
if he does get back to AC, Van Basten will select him for the national team

I Hate Gattuso, Milan don't need him, i think that a midfield with Pirlo, Seedorf and Dhorasoo would be badass.

I agree there, Gattuso is a prick.
I also have a sincere hatred for Nedved, he's such a damn wanker. allways falling down asking for cards and shit.
sure, he's a great player but he should leave the bullshit, it's just fucking annoying.

Slovakia 1 - 1 Portugal
Portugal played like shit. seriously, Figo left and with him, the main engine of the team. 5 years ago we would have won for 4, 5 goals, at least.

To me, England seems unstoppable right now with the line-up they have (especially Rooney, Jesus Christ is that kid good). Hah watching France the other day and....yeah I just laughed.

oh please, England plays one good game and they're unstoppable? did you see the friendly against Holland? they where terrible. Rooney was owned by Boularouz, even the English press wrote about the guy they didn't even know before the game, haha.
I'm not convinced of their team yet. But we haven't seen any team playing on full strenght yet. France just sucks nowadays, I agree. same with Portugal it seems. Finland seemed to to pretty damn well, they played great against the Czech republic.
we beat them with 3-1 for the first match, yesterday we played against armenia, won with 2-0 but it was a BORING game. van der Sar was allmost asleep in his goal, the second half had some more cool action but no goals.
oh and I won my bet, Van Nistelrooy scored his goal

First thing, Gattuso wants to come to United and he has mentioned this to the english press. So now you can understand where the Davids comments are coming from for those of you that were confused

Oh, one more thing to add, I just saw the most ridiculous fucking thing ever. Newcastle vs. Aston Villa and as if it wasn't bad enough for Newcastle that they were down by like 3 in the second half, Lee Bowyer and Dyer got in a fight. Bowyer and Dyer, they're on the same fucking team!!! It was actually funny cuz the Villa players even got envolved and pulled the two apart. They were punching each other for real and Bowyers shirt was a ripped up and shit ahaha.

PSV played an allright game against Lyon, good perspective for the next match and the next round!
AZ won from Villareal yesterday, in the away game with 1-2, great match, loads of chances for both teams and a stopped penalty by the AZ goalie. Villareal won 3-0 against barca and hasn't lost for ages, good to see AZ ended that streak
Chelsea - Bayern was as expected, Bayern missed Makaay too but they where pretty weak IMO. Chelsea is probably going to end out in the finals if not winning them.

Chelsea were fucking annoying on wednesday. I know it was only the first leg and it iwas at home and they won 4-2....but there was some shocking "you can't touch us when we have the ball two yards out of our own area" play going on there. And that fucking Michael Bollock, diving cunt.
"I wanted to reach the ball and suddenly was pulled back *insert Chuck Norris style commando-dive*. I believe you can blow the whistle for that."
If that doesn't sound like the most smug, arrogant, "look at me I GOT AWAY WITH IT" post match comment....I don't know what does.
That dive was worse than the reaction from that Newcastle player who played goalie and armed the balled away from an open goal on saturday.
Oh, and on the England team being unstoppable.
I've posted this line up before, John didn't agree with me on the left wing at the time....
GK: Robinson
RBD: G Neiville
LBD: A. Cole
CB: Terry/Cambell/Ferdinand
LM: Joe Cole
RM: Beckham/Wright-Phillips
CM: Gerrard/Lampard
F: Owen/Rooney
If there isn't a player there you wouldn't want in your team, you're a moron.
*paul robinson is exempt from that statement* Plus the whole bonus of us having a matured player on the left by 2006 is for the first time in recent memory, pant wetting. The Holland game was a friendly, nothing special..no awards..no need to play your usuall. Friendlies are there, in my mind, for teams to try out new techniques and systems, also new players against like-strengthed opposition. The 4-3-3 didn't work, so we reverted back to 4-4-2....the friendly did it's job in my mind.
Plus, Gattuso is a prick yes but i'd prefer him to Keane, Makalele or even Vieira.

I would like to Quote the Milan victory, played a wanderfull defensive game, well considering that the Inter atack was week, (they are nothing but shit without Adriano), Milan dominate the midfield and scored twice with Stam and Mighty Sheva, what a striker, I'm pretty ancious to see him at the world cup.
Forza Milan.

this wont probably interest alot of you but i got to mention the mighty Southend United, top of the 3rd division playing at the Millenium Stadium on Sunday all this from nearly getting relegated out of the football league last season.
I've been waiting 15 years to see us be successful after our last good spell, i've seen us relegated three times, nearly relegated so much more i've been through all the downs at the club and now with five games to go automatic promotion is in our hands and we could win our first trophy in 24 years!
For me having Chelsea as my second team, Southend are my LOCAL team, Southend being champions or getting promoted and winning a cup is far more important than Chelsea winning the league and/or the Champions League.
Premiership football is soulless, full of money-grabbers and i hate the fact that money rules in that division and as for the Champions League, well the name is wrong to start with becuase it's not the Champions League it should be renamed the 'Biggest and Richest Clubs in Europe and we don't give a toss about anyone else Cup'

true, though England was 'bloody terrible' so to speak. Holland didn't even have the regulars on the pitch, it was all trails.
I don't think the english team is unbeatable at all but for god's sake they need to clean up on their act after last european tour, fuck beckham.
Not that Holland did great though, we got really far but we did not play attractive soccer, I'm glad we have van Basten as a coach now, loads of new talent beeing brought in, he took out a lot of the old garde too.
And now we're finally playing attractive football, as a coach of the Dutch team he's still unbeaten and we're on top of the poule now, it's all good. At least we've got Romania and the Czech republic in the poule, England's got uh... Poland?
I'de like to see Holland play against England at the world cup, preferably in the final it'de be a killer match. I'm sure there will be a lot of Dutch players on the pitch that most English folks never heard of! That's what I like about the new team, young guys getting a chance instead of allways using the old farts that had proven themselves in the past (Kluivert, Davids, De Boer brothers, etc.)
there's only one 'old' player I want back, Davids. just for his actions on the midfield.

And by the way, the second goal for bayern munich was a typical, lucky goal in the extra time like usually. Don't know if anyone of you can remberer the season 2000/2001. Bayern Munich scored a goal in the 96 minute in the last game of this season and through this goal, they won the season.
They are so damn lucky.

not entirely true there, did you see that PSV is up there too?
they're a small club from Eindhoven. used to be in the bottom of the top 5/6 of our national league...
they don't have the budget Ac Milan or Juventus of Chelsea has, not nearly there. they don't use 'star-players', look at their lineup, theres a lot of youghtly-talent from their own club (yought division and training)
PSV was said to be chanceles but due to the young talent, they're allmost certain of winning the national title... Ajax has four times their budget, Feyenoord has a way higher budget too but still the fluked in the european series!! (Ajax was TERRIBLE!)
And AZ, who beat Villareal yesterday, they used to be the laughing stock of the national league over here... they're number four now and well on their way to the semi-finals of the uefa cup... not a team with a big budget either, super local and they've got a tiny stadium, hell they where on the edge of degradation a couple of years ago!
Maybe those clubs just got damn lucky but I think there's more to the CL and uefa cup then money. seems that talent gets clubs far too.
The national league over here doesn't have the kind of budgets you see in the english and spanish leagues... no rich oil dudes or something like that..
the problem is, because the clubs aren't as rich here, the great players get sold after one year of succes. just wait and see what happens to AZ and PSV at the end of the soccer year, half of AZ's players have been contacted, it sucks. But it's just what happens, talent gets bought out over here and that's what's bringing down the level in our national league

I agree about the Champions' League though - it should just revert to being called the European Cup. Or maybe the Champions', 2nd, 3rd and 4th League.
Man Utd always bang on about how they did the treble and that it was easier when Liverpool won four European Cups but what they neglect to mention was that they wouldn't even have had the chance to do the treble had the rules of Liverpool's day been applied (Utd finished runner's up in the Premiership the previous season to winning the Champions' League in 1999). And if it was so easy in Liverpool's day, why didn't United win a European Cup back then?
Fucking arrogant cunts!

haha, true. Liverpool was bloody marvellous though this week, they started of great.. shame about the final score, they're going to have a hard time in the away match!
but if they start off just like they did this week and keep playing like that, they'll be fine.
the second goal was awesome, who was that? luis garcia?

Yeah, King Luis!
I can't believe how bad we made Juventus look in that fist half. Credit to Capello though, he saw what was going on and took measures to restrict our midfield in the second half. We didn't do much in the second half as a result.
Unfortunately for Liverpool, Juve's favourite result is 1-0 and it will be very difficult to say that Juve aren't favourites to go through. If we had kept it to 2-0 at Anfield I'd have said we were favourites but alas, twas not to be. We should have Xabi Alonso back by next week though so who knows?
I can't believe AZ beat Villareal. Villareal are playing really well so it was some result to go to Spain and get 2 away goals. PSV and AZ for Dutch European glory? Maybe... but CSKA look very strong though so I reckon a Newcastle - CSKA final could be on the cards in the UEFA and I still think it will be a Juve - Milan final again.
All the newspapers in England were hailing Chelsea's win over Bayern as fantastic but I think Liverpool's result against Juve was much better. Consider the facts:
1) Liverpool had an injury ravaged squad - deprived of four main strikers and one of our first choice midfielders in Alonso plus our two first team 'keepers were both injured as well. Compare this to Juve who were at full strength and our victory is even more impressive.
2) Chelsea played a shit Bayern team missing Makaay and Pizzaro who have scored 40 goals between them this season.
I agree with Hargreaves, there was no way that Chelsea deserved to win 4-2. 2-1 would have been fairer, whereas I don't anyone could say that Liverpool didn't deserve to win 2-0.
Anyway, it's all going to get very interesting in a 4 or 5 days time...

Agreed, a 2-1 result would of reflected they way the teams played...and *swallows pride* agreed on liverpool too. They did deserve the right to go to Turin without Juventus scoring an away goal....saying that, come on Old Lady.
On the media point, if both games were played on the same night I reckon Liverpool would of stole the limelight....but it is hard to take away from what chelsea are doing this season. (still can't believe they've conceeded only 9 goals at this point in the league, that's a feat) I think the papers over here overlook quality with quantity when it comes to these types of games, I haven't once seen a newspaper point out that Liverpool's champions league record this season is far far better than their Premiership one. It also seems that El' Benito has finally got his house in order too, but that doesn't commend the lackluster display against bolton on saturday. It's kind of odd when you think about the way liverpool have played this season; bollocks against premiership clubs....near jismly in the champions league. *I can't believe i'm saying this*
But i don't care, they're going out at Stade De Alpi.

It's a lot down to Steven Gerrard. Since the turn of the year, he's saved his best form for the Champions' League and not been so energetic in the League. Everybody knows that when Gerrard plays well, Liverpool plays well so it just hasn't happened in the Premiership.
Also, I don't think it can be underestimated how much we've missed Alsonso - the guy is class. He and Gerrard have hardly played together this season by virtue of both being out injured at different timies (Gerrard for two months, Oct-Dec, and Alonso for 3 months, Jan-Mar) but to be honest, we've missed Alonso in the last 3 months more than we missed Gerrard when he was out, which is testament to Alonso's class.
What about Everton? They're really struggling to hang on at the moment and the momentum seems to be with Liverpool. If Liverpool beat City today we go above you for the first time in what seems like decades and I wonder how Everton will react to the pressure against Palace tomorrow. Could be a pivotal weekend...
Oh, it seems that the Mirror didn't have a main sporting story today since they have a complete fabrication on the back page. Apparantly an un-named manager has let slip in a press conference that Gerrard has already signed for Chelsea. No quotes, no mention of who the manager was, no mention of why a manager other than Benitez or Mourinho was being questioned about Steven Gerrard, not to mention that the peice was no more than about 200 words long. Spurious doesn't even come in to it.

Liverpool lost to Man City yesterday 0-1. To me that means they need some luck to that 4th spot with Bolton clipping at your heels. Sammy Hyphia is a class defender, its shame he is Finnish. The Finnish team will never win anything apart from a few games against Litcheinstein.
On other news I travelled a 6 hour round trip to see my team (Cardiff City) lose 2-0 to Wigan. We cannot get relegated.....not this season.

that was the most horrid display i have seen from juventus since a draw with roma two years ago, (fuck they should put serie A back on late night channel 4). I don't understand the mentallity of them when english teams play in the Alpi, (arsenal won 1-0 two years ago, juventus needed the win last night....dudek makes about two saves all night?!?!) Fuckin' Italians, did any of the players actually play last night?...I was sure Nedved was on the pitch somewhere. Ah well, when the team in the next round is owned by a Russian....makes sense to have flag happy russian lines men...about 25% of those offisides were just about offside...the rest...who knows, maybe that's just me being a sore loser.

definetly, I think Liverpool deserved it more then Chelsea, the bunch of bought-together fags
Juventus was horrible. PSV played a pretty solid match but they should have made their chances count, AC Milan makes every chance count so thats going to be one hard ass match. Like I said, PSV would get far, they did... I don't see them getting any further though, budget wise they're the poor bastards in company of Chelsea and AC, don't know what kinda budget Liverpool has, but they're clearly the outsiders along with PSV. I'de be a great final though to have the two outsiders play against each other! I don't think anyone from outside of holland would have tipped PSV to be in with the final four.
Tonight it's Villareal - AZ again for the uefa cup, somehow I really enjoy those matches, the CL can bore me in the early stages but it's getting better right now.

hey, i was hardly supporting PSV yesterday, great team, great players, Van Bommel is a pretty great player.
what do you think about Alex def?
in my opinion, one of the best defenders in Champions League.
PSV need to get rid of Vennegoor, hes fuckin awfull.
and yeah, the 3 brazilian guys gave PSV the victory, Alex, Robert and Gomes.

Alex is great but André Ooijer played a much better game! IMO, he's the best defender in the CL, Alex played a solid match but Ooijer was outstanding!
the goal Alex made was cool though, he's one of PSV's most solid playing guys, he's allways in good shape and doesn't fuck up. Like Bouma did
Robert played an invisible game but he did score the penalty, so that makes up for it. Gomes has been the top keeper in our national league since this year, he's only rivaled by Henk Timmer (AZ) and Vonk (Ajax) I agree, Gomes is awesome, he might be the best keeper left in the CL!
Vennegoor is a weird player, he usually is shit but somehow he allways finds a way to score, I don't think he's a bad player but he has a lot of bad days lately, the other forwards are way better (Lee, Beasley, Robert) I think PSV can finally afford a decent striker now that they've got that CL money rolling in, so who knows!!!
I think PSV is a good team, they don't have any 'star' players though, maybe that'll change but they never had much budget to do this, Alex and Gomes really grew in PSV, same goes for Lee. Van Bommel and Cocu are just 'steady measures' they've been playing for ages in our national team and shit, they're just brilliant players.
Tonight is AZ - Villareal, thats gonna rock! if AZ wins they're playing against Newcastle.

AZ is playing well, they probably will make it up against Villareal, the difficult thing they already did, win the game in spain, now they got to make it!
AZ have any missing player for that match? just Meerdink?
Back to PSV, what happened with Lucius?

he's on the bench for most games in the national league, he's not in the base selection of Hiddink, that's for sure.. he plays some national matches every now and then, thats all.
AZ, I don't know if Kromkamp is back in shape, he was injured last sunday against Feyenoord. Kromkamp is one of their vital players, if he's not on the pitch it's going to be harder for AZ to come forward (Kromkamp is one of the guys Van Basten put in the national team and everybody laughed at first but after seeing him play in 'Oranje' everyone's convinced of his skills)
I think they're just missing Meerdink though, I heard Kromkamp would be ready for the match!
anyways, I'm off to the pub for some drinking and then some footy!!

well AZ's to the next round too, what a crazy match, 10 vs. 10 and it was just a terrible mess... Villareal was the better playing team, both teams had near misses and there where a LOT of fauls!
I don't see PSV beating Milan either but if they score an away goal, I don't think it's a lost cause yet. maybe they can surprise Milan, as long as they can play their own game.. its going to be difficult though, they both have great defences

hahaha, fuck yeah...
so, Def said that AZ would probably play with Newcastle, but Sporting played a great game, 4x1 in the end with a great goal by Fabio Rockemback.
now AZ x Sporting, both teams are a real surprise to me, i can't bet here.
about CL, Milan and PSV will be both great matches, i can't wait to see that game, Sheva challenging Alex, hahaha, sorry Alex, you're going down this time, seriously, i don't see problems with any of PSV strikers against Stam, Nesta, Maldini, Cafu and Gattuso.
Liverpool x Chelsea, nothing to say, in the league cup final, they almost killed each other, imagine whats going to happen now, it'll be badass.

Nesta ain't playing, he's been suspended!!
AZ against Sporting.. I hate sporting, they're a bunch of diving faggots. typical for teams from that country, haha. but seriously, they're fucking annoying. they've got a great striker but the guy allways whines about penalty's and shit. he gets a load of yellow cards for schwalbes too.
I didn't expect Newcastle to lose! it was damn close too but it's a shame since I would much rather see Newcastle play against AZ, at least Newcastle 'plays' the game. AZ doesn't have much of a chance now IMO because they've got a lot of injuries (Matthijsen too, damn important..)
the CL, I don't see PSV beating AC but it will surely be a great match, maybe they can surprise AC but thats only going to work if they play their own game. which is damn hard against such a great defence.
Chelsea vs. Liverpool will be badass too. I guess Chelsea will be the favorite to win it but I hope Liverpool beats their asses!!

My internet has been down, sorry fellas. Anyways of all the teams AC has had to play I think PSV will be the toughest match because of their formation. That whole offensive box deal opens up the midfield big time. Hopefully PSV can use this to their advantage and expose AC's slow defence with some through balls. Other then that, its pretty much one sided.
What did you guts think about the flare throwing? Too soft a punishment? I tend to think it was too soft..... fucking uefa.

Way too soft. I don't even have to say what would have happened if it was an English club because you all know the answer. It's about time UEFA washed itself of the vile stench of hypocrisy and actually took action against these hooligans that would harm them, ie, banning Inter from Europe for a year or two. A paltry fine means nothing to the club, never mind the fans.

Init? Look at what happened in spain....not much of a punishment was given...(if any), for that...i'm not suprised the punishment of Inter was so dreadfully soft.
Number one, the fans should be banned from entering a pitch. That takes care of them, unfortunatly the Itallian FA too arrogant and try to support each club no matter....here clubs who don't act against that kind of behaviour will find punishments from their own FA and UEFA.
Number two, Inter should of had a larger fine, reduced points in the league and banned from the competition next time they manage to qualify. If that's not a deterent for that kind of mindless behaviour i don't know what is. That is the second time that has happened in Italy this season and the second punishment seems more lenient than the first, when will the authorities learn?

Pshh flare throwing is common in Serie A though, as much as for the players becoming used to dodging them. But yeah seriously, I think that's fucking ridiculous on the fans, you fucking pay to watch a game and you throw flares and shit?? I remember once there was like an Inter and Roma match that I was dying to see, and they had to cancel the game after like 10 minutes cuz faggots wanted to throw "birthday candles" onto the pitch.

I did not see Dida or Andres Frisk dodging anything that was hurled at them, if we take the throwing away from the pitch and towards the supporters (the back bone of every club in the world) then action would no doubt take place...though i doubt the right forcefull action would be put in stead. Italy needs to grow up as a ruling football organisation, as do the supporters. When rivalry turns into decisional aggression, i base that on the blatent goal being disallowed, then something needs to be done...in England people wouldn't accept it, but i've never seen anything like that...in a world cup qualifier even with Italy, the fans would be the same. I also blame the referee for throwing fuel on the fire that night, obvious penalty decisions ruled out and that clear goal. He should of realised what he was up against when walking out into the San Siro, fuck I would've even put Mike Riley out there in place of him, atleast his own incompetence would wash out the ego-booster of calling such a game.

*Best part of the Enlgish season* (not the fact that Everton are above liverpool, just the whole aspect of the two clubs fighting for that spot)
Why is this the best part of the enlglish season? Cos it's too fucking hard to call, what with Liverpools sporadic form and Everton just having the reputation of relegation contenders. Though, take into acount Liverpool's extra games against Chelsea......If any neutrals out there want to call this, be my guest....
----------Pl-W-D-L-F-A-Pts
4 Everton 34 17 7 10 41 34 58
5 Liverpool 35 16 6 13 48 36 54
Everton fixtures:-

7th H Newcastle
11th A Arsenal
15th A Bolton
Liverpool Fixtures:-
27th Chelsea (CL)

15th H Aston Villa
*I'm not including Bolton in this race anymore as they have Chelsea next*

I really don't know. Everton have tough away games and so do Liverpool. I'll say Liverpool on goal difference.

pff that was one shit game, PSV - Milan, Milan was way better in the first half but in the second half PSV dominated, loads of chances but no goals and a crappy second goal in injury time. so it's Milan to the finals, they win on quality, not in good soccer. BAH!

yeah, I hope they have the deportivo syndrome.
don't get me wrong, AC Milan deserved to win but not like this, though at this level you need to finish every chance you get. PSV got like 7 good chances, usually you only get 3 against Milan and you need to make them count.
fuck PSV for not having a decent striker, it's breaking them up now. Robert is the only good one they got and he's injured. I hope they buy Robinho next season!

I only really saw the first half, and was woken up up during the late night replay for the second goal.....but the quality they posess led to good football. The pass from Kaká which led to the goal was fuckin' superb, as was most of the play that led to PSV chances. They did seem to have a good game plan but the finishing was dire, not really what you'd call champions league quality.
To be honest with you, I'd prefer the idea of Chelsea playing Milan in the final...the two best defences in Europe, two quality midfields, yet only one really decent strike team in milan. Mr. Mourihno's gonna have to sor that aspect of his game out, he can't play the long ball to Drogba when Maldini and Stam are playing. He'd have to do what PSV do and rely on speed. Milan aren't stupid though, they'll be looking at both Chelsea games and Porto games last year. Though, if Liverpool go through...I think Rafa would have a much tighter game plan against a team like Milan, much like against Juventus, all if he manages to overcome Chelsea.

you missed out on the second half!!! AC Milan was great in the first and they deserved the goal, the second half was the other way around, PSV played superb and was hunting for the equalizer. the 2-0 in the injury time was one bitter pill!
hope AC has the deportivo syndrome!!!
ofcourse, AC Milan is a better team then PSV, they've got 4/5 times the budget in millions and they've got star players, PSV doesn't have a 'big' budget and doesn't have any 'star' players, which will change next season, they're buying a striker from the money they earned in the CL. (it's what they miss, a decent no.9...)
It was allready a bit of a stunt that they got this far, though they did deserve it, it's just a shame that Robert (their best striker) was injured, if he had played he would have definetly made a chance count, the second half was full of chances for PSV though they all screwed up with the finishing.
If AC Milan gets to the finals, which is allmost certain, I hope they win it, I can't stand Chelsea, it's a bought together team, it's all about cash like Real is, though they're a better collective then Real, that's for sure. I heard Robben is playing tonight against Liverpool, I'll definetly be watching it!

Any team that gets to that stage deserves it. I however don't hope Milan win in the final if chelsea or liverpool are their opponents, Italian football doesn't deserve it. You say Chelsea are made of money like Real, true...but money doesn't buy you an automatic ticket to the final. Look at what happened last year, semi finals and they were knocked out, FA cup this year knocked out and they've won it with Dennis Wise as their captain. The money is still there, but the management and choaching staff aren't, a new desire to achieve is there too. Unlike Real, who have an ego chart bigger than 100 Jose Mourinhos, Chelsea have, IMO, deserved it this season through their football....something they didn't show last year. Probably through the realisation that money doesn't buy you success as a playing team.
Yes most clubs have a foundation that they build success upon year in year out, Chelsea don't.....but if you look at their star players this season....Terry & Lampard....home grown and there before the Russian billions. It's no suprise that you hear clubs saying, "chelsea are not what football is about"...i'm sorry, i thought football these days was about money and winning.

Man, i didnt watch the match Live (Milan x PSV), i watched it later and i gotta tell you, PSV deserved the VICTORY, i couldn't beleive, If was any another team instead Milan, PSV had won the game, Maldini played a Superb match, also Stam, another thing, Park Ji Sung, that guy is a fuckin awesome player, he bring fear to Milan defense just Alone, never gets tired, unbelieveble...great player.

I never though football was about money but about the game.
ofcourse 'big spending' clubs like Juventus, AC Milan, Real, Chelsea have great teams but every now and then a smaller club jumps up, which is, according me, a far greater achievement. (yes, I'm talking about PSV)
Chelsea deserved everything they got, true, because they play as a great team, even though they should according to their budget... look at Real, they've got all those stars and still play crap, Juventus wasn't much better either IMO, total wank.
it's kinda the same with Barca but I love that team because they're daring and play the game attractively, so they didn't get that far this year but I still enjoy watching them, I think Rijkaard did a pretty good job in Barcelona.
PSV was 5th or something last year, in our national league, maybe you know Hiddink, he came in that year and formed them to the collective they are now, remember South-Korea in the world cup? Hiddink was their coach, nobody ever heard of their team untill they appeared in the semi finals after beating spain and italy!
I hope he stays with PSV because he's one hell of a coach...

About Today, nobody knows, its a Classic.

Victory, I don't know but they deserved to score for sure. Park and Lee both played great but Park is not great in front of the goal, he's a hard worker and shit but he's no star class striker.
PSV's only got one of those and that's Robert who was injured. I heard they're trying to buy Robinho now and I also heard Kezman wants to go back to PSV.
tonight's game will be pretty entertaining, Liverpool is very eager, I wonder what they bring to the table

If Kezman get back, would be pretty cool for PSV, he's a world class scorer.

Actually, considering he's at Chelsea at the moment, I'd call him a world-class benchwarmer.

Thats the Problem, hes on the bench, he don't fit in Mourinhos schematic, so he better go back to PSV where he'll play every match.

funny thing is, he never did that well for PSV... he was usually in the base but Vennegoor replaced him a lot, ofcourse he's learned a lot in a short period but I don't know if PSV wants him back. (could be, could be...) I hope they get Robinho, like Alex they're trying to work something out together with Chelsea
Alex was bought with the help of Chelsea too, Hiddink gets him for a couple of years and then Chelsea can decide if they want him, or not. it's young talent and PSV is just a breeding ground for that. (look at Gomes, Alex, Beasley, Farfán, JP Lee, Park and lately Robert!...)

I don't follow the English league that closely but it's pretty special that PSV went from crap to the form they've got now. They've won the national title a week ago (yes, allready haha) and they're in the final for the Amstel Cup (same idea as the FA cup)
Ajax has been shit this season, totally horrible, a coach was fired and they've got Danny Blind there now as a coach, don't know if they'll be up to shape next year. Same can be said about Feyenoord, they've got some good players (Kalou, Kuyt, Saidi) but it's not a good collective at the moment.
Everton equals AZ, who are in still the UEFA cup now, AZ was on the ass end of the competition last year and now they're number 3. They'll lose against Sporting Lissabon though, AZ has a lot of injuries, unlucky for them because 3 of their best players are injured... (still, great season, their coach Adriaanse is going to Porto next year.)

I support Everton....if liverpool win the CL and Everton finish 4th...Everton could loose their CL's status next year.

I don't think Robinho will transfer to PSV man, Real Madrid wants him to, but Santos is doing whats possible and impossible to keep him, in the case of Santos let him go, he'll go to Real Madrid for sure.

I wonder, PSV has allready countered Real's offer of what, 17 million? I don't think PSV can go further then Real though, they've got way more money.
Robinho does need more time to grow, that's why his manager said to the press, he was considering PSV, they've got a load of brazilians too, which may make it more attractive. ah well, I can only hope.

yes, I heard it's true, they countered Real's offer.
But Real has more cash man, there's no way PSV can offer more the Real in the long run. it all depends on Real.
Chelsea - Liverpool is a pretty cool match going on now, I'm behind the puter with the tv on and sitting here with a nice beer..

Went to see my girlfriend tonight, which means..(though i don't regret)i missed the second half, again. 0 - 0 would seem dreamy for Liverpool, but don't forget chelsea can score.....and almost at will sometimes.....though, from what I saw tonight.....chelsea seemed to offer the ball to liverpool on some occasions, which was worrying......and i'm still concerned about their strike force. If everyone is fit, fuck drogba right off, put this line up on
GK. Cech
LB. Gallas
RB. Huth
CB. Terry
CB. Carvalho
RW. Cole
LW. Duff
DM. Makélélé
AMR. Lampard
AML. Robben
SC. Gudjohnsen ( + CAM)
If mourinho could work a system that pulls gudjohnsen back into the middle of the park, yet places him back into the central striker role at certain points in the game....then Liverpool might just have a hard time dealing with him covering two posistions, kind of risky having your main striker in a free role though...but players like Robben & Cole are always there covering, to run at players outside & inside the box, force corners, draw free kicks and score. I know that kind of system would take months to perfect, but Gudjohnson now knows how to play each role and link up with whoever covers for the main striker should he not be available.

which guy got the yellow card? Duff? I don't remember, but one of the chelsea players is missing the next game, that's pretty crap for them.
Gudjohnsen is golden, I don't know why they're messing around with Kezman, I never thought he was much of a striker anyway...
I wasn't really impressed with Chelsea to be honest but I think Liverpool can't hold the 0 in their own house if Chelsea HAS to score.

Very interesting result last night. I wasn't scared by Chelsea, they didn't even have a shot on target and Dudek was a relative spectator. Jamie Carragher was awesome and was easily man of the match, although Biscan (surprisingly) ran him close.
Liverpool forced Cech into two saves (one an absolutely brilliant stop from Baros' header) and should have had a penalty when Carvalho wrestled Carragher to the ground. That's THREE penalties we should have had against Chelsea this season - Tiago's handball at Anfield, Gallas' foul on Gerrard in the League Cup Final and now this.
I think Liverpool will reap some of the luck we deserve at Anfield. Better teams than Chelsea have been to Anfield over the years and been sent packing. I don't know whether we can keep a clean sheet, but I know we can beat them. Besides, we're due a win against the bastards!
Def: Everton play their home games across the park from Anfield, no more than a 10 minute dash. It's split about 50-50 in Liverpool as to who supports Liverpool or Everton.

Duff failed the 5:00 medical so he didn't play, Joe Cole and Kezman got yellow cards but they weren't on any.....so....they don't miss the next leg, the only chelsea players who were on yellow cards were Carvalho, Johnson & Gallas. Biscan missed the next leg because he was booked...(fact, the refs last name was Sars)
Basically liverpool HAVE to win, no two ways about it really....they can't go for a score draw...and i can't see the next game being goalless

Biscan's OK to play: Alonso misses the return leg through suspension after a ridiculous booking from that arse of a French cunt referee.
Liverpool have to go for it. Simple as.

I thought it was Biscan who missed...ah well.
Alonso was disappointing last night, i didn't really see much of this creative flair people say he has....and i didn't see much of his passes connect to anyone, except for that first half shot Riise had......the only people in Liverpool who really stood out, IMO, were Riise, Carragher & Traore.
