Haha go HC Dresden! Hand ball all the way!
When I visited my family in Germany, I went to see some handball, it was Czech Republic vs. HC Dresden, it was actually really fun and interesting to watch, the score ended up being 14-11 or something (Czech's won obviously). Handball is actually quite popular in Eastern Germany.

Yes handball got more popular in Germany in the last years. And it is in the east more popular because of the time of DDR. In the DDR the football teams weren't that succesful like the teams in west germany. So they concentraten more in handball.
Personally, I am not interested that much in handball. But sometimes i enjoy watching it, especially world or european cup games. I always hope Germany wins the cup but theya never do.

hmm that makes it boring. That's the reason I can watch basketball only for 5 minutes... they score and score and score ... that's really boring.

Peter Schmeichel used to be a goalkeeper in handball as well as football. The red nosed cunt.

PSV won with 1-0 but should have won with greater numbers. now they have to do a good job in France.

Damn, I didn't get a single prediction correct! Liverpool got a great result but it was a shame that Dudek let in that late away goal. Even still, a great result for the Reds. Anyway, my predictions for tonight:
Barcelona 2 - 0 Chelsea
FC Porto 1 - 2 Inter Milan
Manchester Utd 1 - 1 AC Milan
Werder Bremen 1 - 0 Lyon

It was the first goal a german team could score in liverpool. No team scored there before, so I am happy about this goal.

It's been a good week for Liverpool fans: a good victory for the Reds and then Utd getting beat at home! It doesn't get any better than that!

Ajax was poor as shit.without van der vaart, charisteas (greece.. yes) and de jong, they're shit.
Koeman has even resigned today, thats how bad it was. haha!
Feyenoord was poor too, though sporting lissabon played great! (shame on those supporters, that was gay..)
AZ is through, I told everyone here that they where doing great along with PSV, they're the best running dutch team right now.
Heerenveen, well I didn't expect them to get this far but at least they put up a fight against newcastle. Heerenveen is a club running way down in the league over here.
Barca - Chelsea was worth the watch though!

the fans threw firework and they threw shit at the celebrating portugese guys, so they stopped the match for 10 minutes. feyenoord is gonna get a big fine, thats for sure. it's kinda lame, the 'out' crowd started provoking and shit, plus its not helping anyone!
feyenoord played terrible by the way, you could see they're missing their most important players. Ajax was even worse but they have half their team injured and charisteas isn't allowed to play outside holland for ajax.

How come? You've opened up a whole can of worms here, Def!
SARS: Yep, it's very strange how anybody can have an affinity for both Liverpool and The Scum. The fierce hatred between the two clubs transcends anything that one could care to mention.

Since I don't follow a particular team in the EPL, I don't mind either team. However, I'm still pissed about losing Rafa Benitez to Liverpool.

John you must have been drunk when you wrote that so I'll forgive you.
Gerrard's own goal today was perhaps the best thing ever. The "saviour" of Liverpool FC scores a own goal for Chelsea. Whats best about that is in 3 or 4 months he'll be joining them LOL.

A friend of mine who supports Chelsea reckons he's fit to play against Barcelona this week but I think he'll probably start on the bench. They can bring him on if they really need him.

Hahaha!
Liverpool had a fanatastic win in Leverkusen last night. I saw the first half in a Manchester pub before popping round the corner to see Dying Fetus and Nile. I bet Michael Owen is kicking himself now.

chelsea barca was a cool match but barca's defence was horrible in the first half!! (HORRIBLE!)
also, the match with Real, how close was that free kick it could have gone either way, Juve is through now.
PSV is through in the CL too. they allready won with 1-0 against monaco and they won the away game with 2-0. nice show.
I wonder who PSV is up against next, Juve plays damn dirty. PSV works best against an attacking team, PSV-Chelsea should be good fun.

I dunno, Ajax played against Munich but Ajax was horrible last year, their trainer got fired too, PSV is the best Dutch club at the moment, along with AZ! AZ won tonight and is into the next round too

Ooh I hate Demarcus Beasley, and basically along with any other American player. I hate "soccer" here in America.

I don't trust Hargreaves at all - the fact he has a German accent should bar him from playing for England. Sneaky Germans and their footballer spies!

Chelsea-Barca is the the best game I've seen.
That goal from Ronaldinho was great!
The only bad thing about the match was that Barca didn't
qualify.
Yesterday olympiakos-Newcastle 1-3
was a great game! Two red cards for olympiakos and besides that they were
really fucked by the referee(a present for their 80 years birthday)!
If only Newcastle wore black and white(also PAOK's colours) yesterday instead
of yellow it would be perfect

Hey, at least he's a decent player. You can't go pissing about him when "Pretty boys" miss the first shot of a penalty by like 20+ meters and blame it on the turf (Euro) . I've got a question on that, how did it feel as being English and seeing that, knowing how fanatic you guys are about football.

Beckham's a twat. The general feeling was that he had (and continues to do so) underperformed to such an extent that we were entering a state of disbelief and anger. The penalty miss was the straw that broke the camel's back. Even when he used to have bad games for United he'd at least be dangerous from free kicks and other dead ball situations but now that everyone has clicked on to his gameplan he's nigh on useless except for selling shirts.

and gillette, pepsi...kinda like Will Smith and most films he stars in.(MIB ray-ban, i, robot.....too many to list). ah well.
Anyway, glad to see chelsea through...annoyed to see Barca out at the same time. Carvalho's goal should of been ruled out, if not by lightbulb-head then by the assistant who in my view, considering the ball's flight and the movement of players, would of seen it perfectly. But barca deserved to go out due to the shambolic defending, but not for touches of genius from the likes of Ronaldinho...who, if i were Rijkard, I would of given run of the pitch to.
But why Barca didn't look at tapes of Porto last year and worked around that..that's beyond me. Chelsea have played the exact same way Porto did last year in the ECC, but swtiching to more attacking play in the league. My guess is the barca staff were, stupidly, looking at league tapes and trying to stop chelsea moving foward by piling on pressure. Stupid, stupid mistake on behalf of the spaniards.
Man Utd deserve to go out because the are Man Utd or as John put it Manure. Dire dire dire defending to leave Crespo the worst free header i've ever seen....and chelsea loaned him out why?
I haven't really seen much of the other games, except for Juventus'. Sooooo glad to see them through, being a Juve fan i'd love to see them in the final and i hope nedved is back soon too. Extatic to see Real out, cos they're cunts.

Yes. but I don't see PSV winning from AC Milan right now. (depends on how many of the injured PSV players will be back in shape if they get that far)
Chelsea - Bayern will be tight.
I don't know shit about Lyon. but I do know they won with 7-2. I actually hoped for PSV - Chelsea. how cool would that be as a final!
I think Juve plays damn dirty but they will probably get to the finals, I wish Liverpool all the best but I don't see them winning (sorry John )

I think Liverpool have a fair-to-good chance against Juventus if we play as we did against Leverkusen. Juventus don't concede many goals but they don't score many either. A clean sheet at home and the possibility will be there but ideally we need to take at least a two goal advantage to Italy.
If we get past Juventus I'd fancy our chances of getting to the final from there. We've outplayed Chelsea twice and matched them once this season and yet been on the losing side on each occasion so we are due to get some luck against them.
A late, heavily deflected goal beat us at Anfield when Liverpool were denied a blatant first half penalty. In the League Cup Final, Chelsea only got back into the game after a flukey own goal and Liverpool had, again, been denied a blatant first half penalty. At Stamford Bridge it was only a late goal from a set piece that beat us. I'm confident that we can beat Chelsea if we get past Juventus.
Bayern aren't the side they used to be and, in my opinion, are only in the quarter-finals because Arsenal turned in a truly woeful performance in Germany. I'd definitely back Liverpool to beat Munich over two legs but I really can't see them beating Chelsea.
In summary, the teams I wanted to avoid were Milan and Juventus and I was confident of beating all the other teams over two legs. Juventus will be difficult but I believe we can do it - the first game is the crucial one in this tie and will dictate whether we can go to Italy with a realistic chance. I still don't think that we could beat Milan though.

don't count on it. PSV has lost only two matches the entire season here in Holland, they're the best club right now, Ajax is finally out of the slums now with their new coach, they're playing again Ajax this sunday, so thats going to be a cool match!
I can see PSV beating AC Milan IF Psv has all their players for that match (injuries..) since their way of playing will do great against the way AC plays. I don't like Lyon against PSV, I'de rather see Chelsea or Juve there. I don't know though, it all pretty much depends but PSV will surely put up a good fight!

The only team I see beating AC is Juventus. Sorry but if AC shut out a team of United class I really don't see any of the other teams winning. Although Chelsea is in the same class as United I think AC's defence is just too good.

United was shit in that match, to be honest.
AC's definetly a better team on paper then PSV but I think PSV can make it damn hard for them. they've been suprising everyone lately, though on european level, they just miss star-attackers. their defence is marvellous.
anyways, fuck that, I want PSV - Liverpool as a final

well, PSV just finished clobbering Ajax, 4-0... so there's no doubt PSV is the top dog in our competition now. total domination!
I'm stoked about the game against Lyon. if they play like they did today, they've got good chances of progressing to the next round.

2-1.....bastards.
Ah well, another thing about Chelsea.
Yesterday they were awfull, yet they still manage to win 4-1. Granted it was against Crystal Palace...though they are the one team in my opinion with a fighting chance. But the way they played, chelsea i mean, and the fact that they won is just scary.

A little quiz:
Set:greek national division two
The attaking team won a foul 10 meters outside the other team's
area and to the left,a player attempts a cross,a player of
the defending team gets the header and scores an own goal.
The goal was then canceled.Guess why the goal was
canceled and win a three day trip to the Bahamas at your own expenses.

the free kick wasn't given free.
Another possibilty is that the referee was very confused and he decide the player was offside because he confounded the teams.

Sodomaniac and Obrien got it.
The aux ref raised his flag ,talked a bit with the referee
and then canceled the goal because someone from
the attacking team was offside(actually there wasn't even a player in
an offside position!)!!!Fucking unbelievable!
Conclusion:with the right referee football can be very funny.

Holland - Romania for the qualifiers, 2-0
that was the away game, Holland didn't really go all out but they showed what they had coming, I was pretty impressed!! first goal was made in the first minute lol.
the only serious opposition in the group are the Czechs but Holland is firmly no.1 in the group right now. Finland is next coming wednesday, I hope we get to see some more.
shame Robben was injured saturday

That was a boring game, Romania had nothing really going. Sweden v. Bulgaria game was pretty entertaining, Sweden kicked their asses but both teams had alot chances.
