Sorry for bringing up old threads but I bought their EP and I heard their cover of Andrew WKs She is Beautiful............................................................ It sounds almost exactly the same except for two little fills, some double bass near the end, and the vocals are Alexi. I feel dirty. I cannot agree with you by saying I like the way CoB are going.

I just cant get used to it. I look back at Bed of razors, Deadnight Warrior, Bodom after midnight (I know the song is about getting drunk and partying and whatnot but its not the lyrics im worried about) and I just get the chills as to what they are now. Maybe this is how listeners of bathory felt when they changed thier music but so far I havent been able to get used to it.

COB are one of those bands ive come to completely block out the crappy lyrics for, much like Kalmah, whose lyrics happen to be the absolute worst ive EVER heard. I dont know if any of you guys have ever read Kalmah's lyrics, but i swear they could have been written by a 3rd grader. But ive never discarded a band due to the lyrics. I dont like COB now because they have a lot less melody. I know theres a lot of people here who just dont care about melody, but i do. And now that COB is using less melody, which i think was their strong point before, they just dont sound as good.

T'was a fucking joke, why would I name myself Silent Night and put COB as one of my fav. in my profile ? I like their first 3 albums and that's about it.....so far atleast. What I meant by excessive was the really cheesy sounds they used the keyboards for and them using it to play the lead melodies rather than using it in the backround to get that symphonic effect, like Something Wild. A good example is the riff right before the solo on the song "Trashed, Lost and Strungout", that riff sounds so fucking cheesy .

I dont think children of bodom is doing anything wrong, personally they are my favorite band..andi really believe that they only covered she is beautiful and bed of nails so that they could get an EP out with some of their new shit on it. They are all extremely talented musicians, even if u think that whatever song it is sounds cheesy. can you say that you have the same talent? i used to dislike hatecrew deathroll because it was a big transition from melodic to heavy, but that doesnt necessarily mean that they are heading in any particular direction..especially the wrong one. were all entitled to our opinions, so im not going to try to change anyones, but dont you think that they deserve credit for what they are doing?
