Basically i got the new slipknot cd and its fuckin awesome. They have changed so much and they sound incredible. i saw them at ozzfest and they were one of the best bands , other then slayer and lamb of god. guess you could call me a maggot (slipknot fan) and I dont care if u hate me for it...slipknot is fucking awesome...amazing guitarists, great drummer, great singer...that is all

At ozzfest a few years ago
I saw slipknot, and i'll have to say they weren't the best band there. But they were the best live band there. They definately had the most energy. And i've been in a slayer pit. It's nothing to a slipknot pit.
But I don't really like their first two albums, but they sounded great live. There newest I actually like.
And think about what he said. Corey is a great Singer. Because he can actually sing. And he can actually scream. The music may be mediocre (opinion wise). But they are definately a talented band. Because In my opinion (humble or not) I think it's about music as well as gettin your money's worth. I'd love to see satriani, but to be honest i'd be bored. Sittin? and watching him play. Why not rent a vid. It's about excitement, adreniline. Slipknot give you that. So set the stupid genres aside. Go see the fuckers. Even if you don't like them, you'll agree, they put on a fucking phenomenal show. (and slayer's pit, is a bitch pit compared to theirs. And tom told us we were too rough)

What are you basing that comment on? Their albums? Have you heard Mick Thompson play outside of Slipknot? I don't particularly like Slipknot - they have a few good songs - but Mick used to be a guitar teacher which may give you an indication as to his level of ability. Mick can shred, no doubt about it, he just doesn't show it in his playing with Slipknot.

Dude don't ever say the guitarist fucking rule they are shit compared to alot of those other bands playing at ozzfest. Especially lamb of god, their riffs are kick ass. And slipknots solos kind of sound random. You want to hear a couple of good solos go listen to children of bodom.

also there is good bands on a less mainstream level, for example, nightwish went to number one in finland recently and plenty of people like them and theyre still a fantastic band (century child was great, im yet to hear nemo ), also the haunted won a grammy in sweden for "best hard rock band"

Anyone who says Slipknot has a great drummer needs to be shot point blank in the face with a shotgun. The guy admitted to using drum triggering and effects in a interview in a drum magazine and yet people still see him as this awesome drummer. But at least he had the balls to admit it. Plus his favorite band is Deicide so he's not that bad. Still not a great drummer though.

Plus Slipknot is in it for the money. They have waaaaayyyy too much merchandise. I can understand if a band has a shit load of merch if they've been around for over ten years. But after their first album alone, they have more merch than Slayer, Metallica, and maybe even Ozzy.

Oh and if you think I hate Slipknot just because everyone else hate them, I gave them a listen. And honestly, way too over rated. Hey, I like Mudvayne. And I can also admit that Mudvayne is the only real "newer heavy metal" out there I like. And I can promise you about 90% of the metalheads here hate Mudvayne. I don't care. Do you even know what triggers do? It takes the sound and "transforms" it into midi so the sound can be altered, It makes for a cleaner sound... it doesn't make it faster (contrary to idiot's beliefs).

Joey uses his triggers to do two beats when they are hit. So it would be like "bumbum" really fast instead of "bum". That would make him twice as fast as he already is.

(Triggers are used to make the sound clearer for the mega clicky bass drum sound. It makes the sound less muddy than with pure accoustic drums, thus making the sound clearer and appear "faster". It isn't actually faster... just cleaner (no overlapping bass drum sounds). Get it?)
