Way of Life

This song is sort of like a fuck the rest of the world and unity among fellow metalheads although metal, trends, and any literal shit is not mentioned. Enjoy.

Way of Life

(Verse one)
Tired of the world we see
Everything infuriates me
Everyone’s a mindless fool
Under complete mindless rule

We’re the one’s who truly know
Watch the rest, to hell they go
Watch them all, waste their life
We will stay and never die

(Chorus)
This is our, Way of life, this is who we are
Never will succumb to change, anything by far
Never give, never end, aggressive we will stay
This is a, PART OF US; we'll never go away

(Verse two)
Weeded out we are the strong
We will live forever long
Like the wild, those who strive
Those who fight will stay alive

Watch whatever comes and fades
Laugh aloud at all the shades
Be whatever what we want
Not subject to fear of taunt

(Chorus)

(Verse three)
They may laugh, they don’t know
Jokes on them, it will go
They will die, we will live
cause we have nothing to give

Wait for it that shall fall
We survive we’ll be all
We will be, in best state
Never EVER compensate

(chours)

A couple things with this one...first in the line --"Not subject to fear of taunt"--should that be 'or' there? I think it makes more sense, but thought I'd ask. And the second thing is --"They will die, we will live
cause we have nothing to give"--for being proud of being a metalhead that sort of sounds pretty narrowminded and backward from the rest of what you're saying. Maybe it needs a makeover there ? I think metal has a lot to give myself. Maybe just replace 'nothin' with 'a lot' , 'everything', or 'it all' ? ( I like the latter the best.)

I'm glad you gave an explanation of it. It set a different tone to it which I liked. Cool piece. I liked the rhyme scheme and the cadence in it. Good rhythm. I bet it would be fun to perform, too. I'm hearing it as an Anthrax or Audioslave type song where the lyrics are really up front.

Nice job.

When I say we have nothing to give, I sort of mean that we are not going to give our money, our time, or our souls to a bunch of shallow thrends sort of. Maybe I should revise it. But I'd rather take that line out and make a new one.

It is my first song I ever really wrote and kept. It has a fast pace in an F-Sharp key. If you want to hear it, I have a live recording from two years back. It is on www.purevolume.com/glaive. You can hear it on this player to the right.

It was called "Metalhead's Club" then, but I was fifteen and couldn't think of a better title. Later on I couldn't stand the corniness of the title and lyrics. So I revised the lyrics and changed the title but I kept the message the same. By the way the recording ain't that good. It was my first time singing on Stage and I kind of sucked. And our band wasn't tight at all.

I could actually picture Joey Belladonna or John Bush singing it. Though I would prefer John Bush.
