Got me a new hi hat!

Well a few weeks ago (about 3) I got me some new hi hats.
They are Paiste 14" sound edge, I bought them at damn Sam Ash and paid $412 bucks for em (US dollars) but am bringing them back to guitar center to the guy that gives me lessons and he is taking 70 bucks off, but anyways these things kick ass! They are nice and loud and I love these things. I tried out the Neil Peart ones as well but to me these things are 10 times better. Anyone else here have any Paiste Sig. Series cymbals? If so then how many have you broken? The guy said that they will break because they are thinner than any brand of cymbal but sound and ring louder and better but said if I get a warranty on them then I get them replaced for free and shipped overnighted.

I guess so. I never broken one myself so can't say nothing on that one. Plus your not supposed to hit a crash or something like straight down, you hit it and move to the side with it.... I never knew that until the people at Paiste told me that.

there are 2 techniques, one is the offset hit where the stick slides of the side of the cymbal, the other is where you 'swish' the stick in a circular motion, hitting it, but not pushing it down.

I think the second one is more a Jazz technique, but yeah, I didn't know that until a guy at a cymbal store told me either....

Yeah well I actually learned those as well from the guy at the store and he learned it from Paiste, I actually didn't get that from Paiste but he did and told me so same thing.
