Death's Symbolic Sound

I was listening to it the other day and some songs seem like they
have a slight delay on them. Does anyone know what gear he used
to get that sound?

I've read that Chuck has used Boss DS-1 pedals before. (standard
orange one with 3 knobs).

First solo from 0:29 to 0:41 seconds on Zero Tolerance. You can hear
it at the end of the solo (slightly).

Chuck used Marshall Valvestate heads, no pedals for distortion. He did use delay from time to time, not sure what pedal exactly.

he used valvestate 8100's amps or somet (i'm prob wrong) , bc rich custom stealths with a dimarzio x2n in the bridge. I m definetely sure he had a delay pedal aswell as a chorus pedal, which were most likely boss's, he also had a flange pedal in that album.

I don't own or know of pedals at all. I like that sound (delay, echo, or whatever it is) that Chuck uses on that album. I may start looking out to buying one. Is the DS-1 ok? Flanger, what equipment would that require?

I was looking around some pawn shops in London, Ontario and they had an 8100 for about 600-800 dollars (CAN) I can't remember the exact price. I said to the guy that he would never sell it at that price. That's way to much. I offered 200 and a handshake but he wouldn't budge!

I'm 90% sure you can't get a 8100 new at all, only valvestates (AVT models).

Boss ds 1's are awesome for a beginner distortion pedal

they sound abit thin though

and not good for soloing

Yeah he used a 8100, custom stealth with an x2n. all the other effects are studio only, and probably had them put in after it was recorded.

Yeah, I looked at some flange pedals on the net today. They're more costly than I would have anticipated.

Those effects are also audible on his Live and Raw DVD for the symbolic songs.
