Karl Sanders Solo Project?
Ive just received the newsletter from Relapse and it mentioned this in the 'coming soon' section:
::: [COMING October 26, 2004] :::
~ KARL SANDERS - 'Saurian Meditation' CD
Do any of you good Metaltabenese folk have any information regarding this release? There has been no indication in the metal press of it being in the pipeline. I've also just checked the official Nile site and there was no mention of it. I am thoroughly intrigued.

Side projects are good, they let you expand your musicial desires. This will only give Karl more idea for the next Nile cd

I got the newsletter also. I think it's going to be on Release Records (Relapse's ambiant co-label) and it is going to be like an Egyptian folk kind of dealy. Not Death metal.

Indeed.
It is a solo project, yes. I think the music is meant to be way more Egyptian influenced, and not so much death metal (or none). I have also heard the whole album is instrumental. Who knows, we'll wait and see.

That sounds good. As Dissection said, it's Karl Sanders: you know it's going to be good. I'm buying it, for sure - it'll be very interesting to see what he comes up with in a non-Nile setting.

October 24th according to the Relapse newsletter. *Rubs hands in anticipation*
Nihilist, BoC: Morecambe and Wise were indeed a (very funny) comedy duo from these very shores. They often incorporated a scene where they were both sitting up in bed together (taking the piss out of married life, I suppose) and that exchange earlier reminded me of it for some reason.
I'll get back in my cage...

We British resisited Nazi rule with grim determination and bold strength in the face of adversity - so I think I can take any abuse that gets thrown my way! Now, who wants to join me in my cage?

Don't forget Yorkshire pudding, hahaha!
BLS: Relapse are excellent for buying CD's from. $12 is especially cheap when you consider that the current exchange rate is very nearly $2 to a Pound. With prices like that, I'm more than happy to wait a month while it ships.
EDIT: I just pre-ordered it! *Rubs hands in gleeful expectancy*

I finally got my grubby hands on Saurian Meditation this week and I have to say that I'm certainly not disappointed with the results. The album is excellent - this is what acoustic/ambient music should sound like. The music conjures many dark and bleak images of a once mighty civilization and is almost hypnotic in it's meditative intonation. Truly remarkable.

Karl Sanders should make a goregrind solo project talking about chicken, how to fuck them, behead them, cook them, sell them, un-feather them, and other things, I would definately buy that album if he were into that music, but im sure hes not. Hes still in Nile because they make good money.

You seem to be obsessed with death metal bands making a lot of money lately. They don't. I'd bet he's still in Nile because, well, it's his band. He didn't drop out when they weren't making money and he still had to work a day job to earn enough to live on, which was true as recently as Black Seeds of Vengenace.
And I don't think the Colonel fucks chickens.

Karl's new solo album, Saurian Exorcisms, is out next week. After the immensity of Saurian Meditation, I'm expecting good things again.

I think it is only being released on 11 May here, though. Although, the store I ordered it from has sent me an email saying it's been completely shipped already - strange! Oh well, if it means I get my grubby little hands on it a bit earlier then it's good news all round.
Have you heard it, GD?

I still haven't heard either of his solo releases. I remember hearing a track or two from Relapse or myspace or something and wasn't too struck by it and I completely forgot about it until now. I need to make a CD run soon, so I'll pick it up.
