Footwork @ blastbeats

I was wondering what you think of this:

at full blasts (snare + ride + bass per hit), using only one foot?? Its pretty fast and shit, but most drummers split their bass in L R L R pattern for this, but it makes my blasts sound sloppy.

I can do it (with one foot) pretty much up tempo...
I will post a video of it later this week, if anyone should care.

thanks for opinions

It's more or less what works for you if your just as fast with you one foot do it man there is no right or wrong way of playing the drums.
Derek Roddy perfect example of a one footed blastbeating maniac.
Nicholas Barker breaks it up between his two feet, so it's your call.

And sloppiness happens cause you aren't being precise, or you need to tune your bass drums so they sound identical.

thx BOSE man

yeah I only have 1 bassdrum (doublekick pedal)
it's my snare/bass coordination that goes not perfectly when I split them up.

thanks anyway I will practice on the one foot blast although it has less power behind it due to the speed.

Trust me it's gets easier/louder the more you do it, just stick with it.

And you could try adjusting the springs tension on your double pedal, so you get a better rebound and kick.

personally, I usually split the hits between the feet. I could do it with one foot at most reasonable tempos, but why use all the energy of one foot when you can keep it even between two?
It's good practice to use one foot I suppose...but I guess I'd try to do one foot blasts with my left foot and my right foot equally so that one foot wouldn't get more worked out than the other and have the other one holding it back when going full speed ahead (two bass hits for every one snare hit)

loud blast beats: 2 feet
ordinary blast beats: 1 foot
Hyper blast beats: 2 feet but doing 32nds
feeling lazy and hungover blast beat: 1 foot on one and three....

but I think one foot generally sounds better, easy to get the coordination, and it also gets your foot speed up which is no bad thing.

cause if you can do one footed blast beats, you can do some amazing things, think a beat on top of a blast.

Nile style, straight blasting on the snare with syncapated cymbal fills, bloody good shit.

It really depends on how furious you're trying to blast. For most death/black metal, single foot blast beats should work (I can always time better if I use one foot too) But using both feet after you warm up wtih a single foot blast will kill all else.

Personally im sticking with variation between left and right foot on the pedals - only because it has potential to be fast as hell, be more precise, for me it feels better this way to fit in a small little blast as well.

don't stick to any one pattern, learn and practice both.
