BC Rich N.J. Vs. USA made

Hi all,

I've owned many BC Rich guitars over the years - mostly N.J.'s. I'm considering one of the custom shop USA models, but they are so much $$$. Does anyone know anything about the Neck-Thru models? I know they are N.J.'s, but they look way nicer than any I've owned. Are the USA models that much better? Worth the extra $$$? Check this Neck-Thru out : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...ssPageName=WDVW

Thanks,
B.R.P.

Doesnt look too bad. Those pickups in there suck, so I'd change those.

A pick-up change would definitely be in order. I’ve been eyeballing a couple of Bill Lawrence L-500’s. Maybe an L-500 XL in the bridge position and an L-500 R in the neck position. Now I just need a guitar to put them in.

Yeah BLS, all N.J.'s are not american made. They're made in Nagoya Japan. (hence N.J.). Definitely mass produced over there.

The American ones are more expensive because they're higher quality. Neck through vs. bolt-ons vary in sound.

Read this first before you buy something else on e-bay. It will help you think better about things you see in e-bay.

Its made out of maple so I'm not sure how that will sound. I heard maple sounds a little to bright. Not good for metal. I'm dont know this for a fact though.

cause your not a dumbass. ALWAYS ask the seller a question about the item that they could only answer if they acually own the item. Never fails.

Ask for more pics, if its a scam they usually wotn give you more pics because they cant find anymore to steal.

And read FEEDBACK, this B.C. Rich isent a scam but ask for the serial number before just to be safe.

Asking for the Serial number won't help if the guy has made (or aquired) a copy. And even if it is legit, he still may not ship it to you!

I've only bought a few CD's off Ebay, I'm pretty nervous about being ripped off, and Ed Roman's page does nothing but make me more nervous.

I always like to play the instrument I'm buying first anyway.

Maple is bright. Kerry King has a maple signature model but then again he also has EMG's in it.If you have active pickups the sound color of the wood is of less importance.

Ed Roman is a prick! Some poeple think he is the man to talk to about guitars but he is really just an over rated asshead. The site I posted though is pretty good, because it has some scams that I would have never known about if I hadn't read it. Some poeple make a good profit from e-bay scaming. There are scams there right now just waiting for us, so be smart about what you buy on e-bay. I have never been riped off there, but I have had someone e-mail me pretending to be e-bay trying to get my account info before. I totally exposed them too!
